Simple Pleasures

Has there been anything lately that made you smile or happy that surprised you because it was something simple.
OR

am I the only one that gets a kick out of simple pleasures like:

It is Bamboo Milk and Orange Blossom.
cloud9

It is making me crave these:

Though I am sure like everything else I crave, I cannot get those here.
pout

Oh well, at least I have my yummy shower creme.
:lush:

Cool.... biggrin

Oh and another one I rec'd yesterday. A sweet orger sent us gifts for the baby and threw in some perfume samples.
This one caught my fancy, made from one of my favourite scents in the world, Neroli.

I do not normally buy perfume and will not buy this but I might spring for a bottle of this instead:

Just now ...

my 17 yr old daughter calls me every morning when she arrives at school to say I love you Mom, have a nice day and I am safe !

I am all about the simple pleasures in life

a warm smile
a loving word

at the end of the day it's those things I am most greatful for

material things though nice, are replacable and just sit around doing much of nothing

Michael and I write each other love notes ( emails ) each woarkday and when he is away even more so with little pics attached sometimes like the photo I posted on the "lips" thread. Those mean far more to me then a dozen roses or perfume mushy

I agree. nod

I have a zillion emails saved and letters written. Being long distance encouraged us to communicate in all sorts of ways and we have continued to express ourselves in that way.
The most memorable is the time he wrote me a love message on my mirror after he took a shower at my place. He had to fly home that day, when I took a shower the next morning, his message came up on the mirror from the steam.
So when I stepped out of the shower, I found his message.
mushy
I did not clean my bathroom mirror for a long time after that.

Fresh mint
lemons
fresh squeezed grapefruit juice

I am taking advantage of my heightened sense of smell.

My morning tea makes me very, very happy. If the rest of the day is crap, at least there was one good thing about my day and that's the perfect cup of tea I had.

This weekend at the farmer's market we bought a humongous ginger root and 2 cases of Mangos for 2 euro. In the wake of that purchase we've made homemade ginger ale cloud9 and several containers of Malaysian style Mango mousse which we're passing out to friends and neighbors, just because... fallinluv

Oh, hell yes.

My worst-behaved client has a smile that lights up the room. When she shows her dimples, it makes me ridiculously happy.

A strong cup of hot, black coffee.

Making a funny that makes my husband laugh out loud in spite of himself.

LUSH bath bombs.

My kids doing stupid shit like yelling, "Captain FartyPants, AWAY!" and running up the stairs, only to stop halfway and shout, "Oops! Outta gas! Better eat some more beans!"

Oh, God, when you quit for a while and fall off the caffeine wagon, that first cup is like SEX and COCAINE and a HUG all at once.

A hug and a kiss from my kids, my husbands phone call to my work, asking if I can join him for a long lunch wink

Throw in by a Starbucks-venti-ice-coffee and a delicious cupcake, and I am in heaven. cloud9

Maybe I should try that. I have been unable to sleep. Perhaps I need a bath before bed tonight?

I love fixing a big brunch at home on a Sunday when all of the kids are at home. It doesn't fall into the 'simple' category, cause that's a lot of people, but it makes me feel that all is right with the world.

Teacher

I've tried to take pleasure and note of simple everyday things ever since I had my first depressive episode, but even more since I got my diagnosis - it helps calm me down and breathe when I'm hypermanic and it lifts my spirits when I'm in a depressive phase.

- Uzie rolling in the snow every time we go out mushy
- Curling up on the couch with Uzie right beside me cloud9
- Mim lying on my arm, snoring in my ear touched
- Reading a book while being in the bath
- That the days are more than 2 hours longer than they were in the middle of December woot! sun
- New books reading

I've gotten much better at these things, to some extent because I don't do much of a bigger magnitude so to speak. lol It's very good to note the little things because when you reflect on them it means you hit the "pause" button and everybody needs that.
