All or Nothing

Are you an 'All or Nothing' person? In life, are you passionate and totally involved in a project / your work / your hobbies? And with love and relationships, does it have to be the whole 9 - passion, excitement, to be loved and adored to the ends of the earth...

Or are you a more 'Middle of the Road' kind of person, are you happy to compromise, feel content, have no drama, no complaints, that kind of thing? Just curious... or bored..! wink

No you wouldn't, the thing you have to do is be happy with what you are and embrace it.

But I am not happy with who I am. I wish I wasn't me cry. Peter told me today that I just don't have talent to be a happy person. Maybe he is right.

Well, that's interesting, that's what I'm trying to find out, what's the best way... but I suppose you either are or you're not, you can't really change yourself, so maybe embracing how you are as mdiver says CAN make you happier?

Well, if you don't mind me saying it comes down to embracing things.

It is exciting to go all out, run fast, think fast and act fast, live on the edge. That is the great adrenaline/endorphine part of it that we thrive on. However there is a down side, sometimes things go tits up, sometimes one gets hurt, falls flat..etc. however we cant have the one without the other so we have to embrace that chance, in fact sometimes it is the chance of failure/getting hurt that makes us feel alive. The closeness of death or pain is what makes it so much fucking fun. Unfortunately until one realises that one is not really ready for the chase hug

nod So true, life is for LIVING! Really living, not just sort of getting through without any risks of failure or getting hurt, it's all part of the experience I think.

hug See I am not the "go all out, run fast, think fast and act fast, live on the edge kind of person" sigh. I am the kind of person who needs security and stability. But still I am the "all or nothing" kind of person. And having fallen flat and been hurt does not make me feel alive sigh. Quite the opposite. I feel alive when I am happy, and I can appreciate the little things in life. Having "survived" things did not make me stronger like people usually say. I think I am just a hopeless case sigh.

I wish that too, but some day it will happen hug.

I have been told by everybody that I think too much and I think that's true. So in my case it's not a good quality anymore .

I really think more people are a balance of both concepts - just they pick a main theme and run with it lol

for me, to REALLY be an "all or nothing " person - you have to be able to throw in doses of some of the thigs listed for a " middle of the road " person
