there are newbies all the time that feel they are excluded, that we are all one big clique hell-bent on excluding them. They just don't post enough, or have orgnames with hard to remember numbers or no avvie (pet hate of mine ) who whine about cliques instead of making a mark with intelligent/weird/cool posts.

There's a difference between ganging up on somebody and loads of people dumping on the same person though. There are people on this site that I find to always make posts that are so crazy and/or dumb that I will dump on them, but I'd do that regardless of whether other people do too or not. I will not take into consideration that other people do that too, I express what _I_ think. Then there's people who will do what I described in my first post, not really because the thread starter's post is in your word outlandish, but because of things that are in the past - a number of people who are close friends will flood the thread with posts and presto, it's derailed.
So you don't want to report people but you still don't want people to gang up on others? Then you had better start trying to put out fires in every thread you see it in cause this thread won't do the job, sorry. If you don't want to see it first thing in the morning, then either don't visit the Org or don't click on suspicious threads.
However, and I think this was your intention with the thread; It's made me think about something - do I REALLY have to dump on somebody EVERY time they post or make a thread? The answer is obviously no and I thank you for making me think about it.
