Cliques are often associated with children and teenagers in a classroom setting. Schools are a prime place where peer networks exist and can easily be accentuated through the differentiation of various cliques, and through the processes of inclusion and exclusion that characterize a clique

there are newbies all the time that feel they are excluded, that we are all one big clique hell-bent on excluding them. They just don't post enough, or have orgnames with hard to remember numbers or no avvie (pet hate of mine ) who whine about cliques instead of making a mark with intelligent/weird/cool posts.

I don't believe in censorship, but I do think spirited debate, even when you're the underdog, is perfectly o.k. It does make it difficult when folks twist what you say instead of actually paying attention to your words, but I blame my spelling for that.
