Help ZombieKitten! The Aussies are trying to censor the Internet. Will the Org be blacklisted? Apparently the Australian government has been compiling a list of sites which are to be blacklisted from view down under due to objectionable content. It started out as a way to block child porn sites, but it has expanded to include anti-abortion websites and gay-themed websites.
http://www.dailykos.com/s...-Internet. * the national gadfly's diary :: :: Wikileaks recently published a complete list of the proposed blacklist sites currently under review in Australia, under the guise of protecting the people of Australia from child pornography. The Australian government has issued a statement calling the list a fake and threatening action against Wikileaks. Wikileaks is standing behind the list's authenticity and has issued a statement informing the Australian government of their full rights to publish the list as well as a promise to pursue legal action against anyone attempting to censor Wikileaks. I'm worried that the Org may be blacklisted in Australia due to all of the sex threads in GD, and that ZombieKitten and Ocean may not be able to log onto this site.

They have been trying to do this for a while now and every time they bring it up it just fails. Hell one ISP here voluntarily put the censors up just to prove that they will be bypassed no matter how hard the government tries to block content and it was proved that they cant block anything no matter how hard they try.
So all I can do is laugh when I see this stuff. If by chance they do somehow get this crap implemented I foresee Australia becoming the new communist China Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. Do you read me Lieutenant Bowie, I said do you read me...Lieutenant Bowie

They just said they would send a warning email first time a person get caught. Then if it happens again to the same person, they send a letter with acknowledgment of receipt, and in the end they just cut or cancel their internet susbcription.
