Sometimes there are reasons that are more valid than others and sometimes the reasons are irrelevant. But either way, one has to accept responsibility for their role in the situation. It's just that it's rarely as simple as being to get up and leave the abuser. It can take months, even years, for a person in an abusive situation to work up the nerve to leave. Not to mention, when he or she is leaving can be the most dangerous time for them. A lot of murder cases come out of an abused woman or man attempting to leave their partner. The other thing to consider or question is whether Rihanna, like Chris, grew up witnessing domestic violence. If this is the case then they both need counseling and are both victims of a dysfunctional childhood and have been taught by example that its okay to hit and be hit as long as you love the person at the end of the day. In the end, despite what their loved ones tell them, these two are gonna do what they want to do. I feel sorry for them as a couple, so much going for them, so much longer to live and this is how their relationship ends up and in front of the public eye no less.  | |

I know a few folks who grew up with him and they said he once had this girlfriend from Brooklyn, NY who stuck by him when he didn't have a dime to his name. When he made it big, he dumped her for the hollywood chicks. Well, I guess karma is something, isn't it? [Edited 3/12/09 10:58am] | |
