Not just here, but everywhere.

It blows my fucking mind how many people are ready to blame the woman in the situation, or call her stupid for not leaving. It's easier said than done.

Women, should not be above personal responsibility. It is easier said than done but ultimately the abused person needs to face the facts of why they stayed. Sometimes there are reasons that are more valid than others and sometimes the reasons are irrelevant. But either way, one has to accept responsibility for their role in the situation. It's the only way to truly heal and to move beyond the cycle nod People don't have to be evil about this though.

Oh, I agree with you. It's just that it's rarely as simple as being to get up and leave the abuser. It can take months, even years, for a person in an abusive situation to work up the nerve to leave. Not to mention, when he or she is leaving can be the most dangerous time for them. A lot of murder cases come out of an abused woman or man attempting to leave their partner.sigh

I remember how when Robin was going through her mess, the public turned on her, too...interesting...hope to catch this online...

I don't know if you remember, but she was being accused of being a golddigging wench and rumor has it she was drugging him. I think the drug rumor came out after the interview and he was looking spaced out. Being that it's three sides to a story, I could watch the interview with Larry King myself.

The other thing to consider or question is whether Rihanna, like Chris, grew up witnessing domestic violence. If this is the case then they both need counseling and are both victims of a dysfunctional childhood and have been taught by example that its okay to hit and be hit as long as you love the person at the end of the day. In the end, despite what their loved ones tell them, these two are gonna do what they want to do. I feel sorry for them as a couple, so much going for them, so much longer to live and this is how their relationship ends up and in front of the public eye no less. sad

There's going to be three more specials about this tomorrow:

Oprah
Tyra
Dr. Phil

Oh and regarding this topic, unless the person has some sort of sudden involuntary neurological or psychological breakdown or disorder that induces some type of accidental, temporary rage he/she is not conscious of (which can be forgivable after medical analysis), U don't strike or injure someone U "love," at least not where I'm from. There are stories circulating that Rihanna has angrily slapped Chris Brown, and he has shoved her against walls before this incident even happened. I think people need to start leaving the word "love" out of this subject. confused

I know a few folks who grew up with him and they said he once had this girlfriend from Brooklyn, NY who stuck by him when he didn't have a dime to his name. When he made it big, he dumped her for the hollywood chicks. Well, I guess karma is something, isn't it?

If you've ever seen my "holding bitches to account" threads, you KNOW I can't STAND gold diggers. My family was victimized by one, namely my stepmonster. The way to kill a gold digger is to make the bitch poor, not beat her up. Like the women need to take responsibility, so do the men. Walk away and leave if these women are that bad!

here's one side of the cube story.

http://findarticles.com/p...ntent;col1

one of my fav parts of this article:

He (Tyson) consults friends, including billionaire real estate developer Donald Trump and fight promoter Don King. He takes steps to protect his fortune by blocking bank accounts (Robin is said to have been enraged when she tries to cash a $651,000 check and is told the account has been closed), shifting jointly held funds into his personal accounts, and taking other measures that seem inspired by his attorney, Howard Weitzman, and his adviser, sharp-minded fight promoter Don King, to whose farm in Ohio Tyson moves to forget his marital problems and to train for his upcoming fight with Frank Bruno of England. Tyson counterfiles, alleging that Robin had no intention of making their marriage successful, and that she had married him for his money and fame. In his suit, filed in the New Jersey State Supreme Court, the young boxer claims that he has been "the hapless victim of intentional fraud,c saying that he has been subjected to "extreme cruelty," and that Robin has abandoned their New Jersey home. He alleges that Robin has waged a "campaign to publicly humiliate [me], strip [me] of [my] manhood and ... dignity and to destroy [my] credibility as a public figure." He seeks to pull a legal coup by having his marriage annulled, thus frustrating any plans Robin may have to share his considerable wealth.

For real! Before she married Mike, wasn't she trying to get her claws into both Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall at the same time or something? I remember there was some scandalous controversy involving the three of them back then and them two laughing like hell when she got with Mike.
