Yes, and the main ones who do it are closet homosexuals themselves.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

No, thats a generalization.

Because 3/4 of them are homosexual anyway, don't believe the hype.

All the rap that I have heard is very demeaning to women, which is why I don't listen to it.

Would you for once construct a feasibly coherent sentence? What the fuck does "This is so old hat....rolleyes" mean and how does it pertain to the subject at hand? dunce

Rap is not only mostly homophobic, but its sexist too. Look at the role of women as hoes and to be had, and some of the rappers gleefully rapping about violence in their raps eg "I don't love you hoes", "I go hard on my bitches, cos I am never never soft on them" "bitch u don't know, u aint heard, fucking with me u gonna get served", "One for the money, two for the bitches, three 2 get ready, and four to hit the switches" "Til the sweat drip from my balls" "Move bitch get outta da way". "Been boning my hoe" Ultra macho, Jim Buck type nonsense.
Just listen to Ludacris and Too Short and TPain, none have respect for women, its just shut up bitch and listen, and half of them think they are pimps and that hoes love it. Gays are ignored unless they are referred to as thing to kill or humiliate. Reggae yes is worse, Buju Banton and Beenie Man were part of the reason raggamuffin never really took off.
Fortunately many gays don't listen to rap as most gays are high brow culturally and most hip hop (Come on) is for the low brow and less intelligent members of society.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Common at least has had an interesting evolution. He used to say some pretty messed up stuff with regard to homosexuals, but he had a song, "Between You, Me and Liberation" on his album Electric Circus that promoted new thought around tolerance, if not solidarity with the plight of LGBTQs. I haven't followed his more recent work to know where he is now.

Last I heard he still doesn't like the 'mos. He refers to women as bitches in his music but seems to get a pass for whatever reason.

That's disappointing.

There does seem to be a preponderance of homophobia in the rap community. And can't say I hear many respectful references to women. And what about Public Enemy getting a pass for their anti-Semitism ("Welcome to the Terrordome", "Swindler's Lust", etc.). Is there anything more ironic than a group so concerned with racism indulging in anti-Jewish slurs?
