Rape Victim's Kin Beat Suspect With Pipe

Should these people go 2 jail?

MOBILE, Ala. -- A rape suspect is in the hospital after police in Mobile say the alleged victim's relatives attacked him.

Police said 55-year-old John Berryhill is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl after he broke into her house on Dauphin Island Parkway. Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, three men attacked Berryhill with a metal pipe.

On Wednesday, police announced the three men who beat Berryhill are relatives of the rape victim.

Berryhill is charged with rape and burglary. He will be taken to jail once he is released from USA Medical Center.

A grand jury will decide whether the men who attacked Berryhill will face any charges.

Rapist, especially of a minor deserves life behind bars. The behavior of these thugs deserves punishment too. I understand why, i just think it is wrong too.

He's still alive. They failed then.

They weren't defending her. It was payback.

i know right?? rolleyes the justice system is far too lenient and in some cases oblivious to the damage that these sexual predators inflict on our society. If we spent more money on prevention and executed or locked these mofos up for life then people wouldn't have to take the law into their own hands. Rapists/sex perverts lower humanity, demean humanity, inflict life long scars on the victims and in some cases create more monsters like themselves since some victims grow up to become abusers.

Rapists, particulary those who attack kids are perverted demented derelicts of the lowest order and really out to be exiled if not publicly stoned till dead like in the old days. the relatives of the victim were all to kind if all they accomplished was an ass whooping. but then perhaps because they just whooped his ass they might get probation. it is alabama tho...anything could happen.

Sadly, yes. While I don't agree with what they did and think they need to face consequences for their actions, it would just be sad and fucked up if their punishment was more severe than the rapist's turns out to be.

If there was any real justice in this world rape and sexual assault would really be treated seriously. Part of why it goes on is because we allow it to by being silent about it.

It also goes on b/c we still live in cultures where certain folk, (the ones with dicks) feel entitled to do whatever they want to whomever they want. the few decent men of the world (like the ones that whooped on rapey dude) have to start standing up and fighting for those that cant defend themselves. if thine brother offends...beat the crap out his ass! cool

Yeah, and as the woman of a 9 year old sister, who was a rape victim, you'll be hard pressed to get me to feel bad about it.

The court system fails children as they are put on trial and further brutalized. Consider there are a lot of little girls who won't ever know what we have been through because the family guaranteed he won't be ready and able anytime to soon!

...and they always repeat the crime.

It's easy for people who haven't experienced what others of us have to sit on a moral high horse. Even criminals have a code - I think they call it "honor amongst thieves" - so this guy will probably get it again when he's sent to prison.

That's just it, "being silent" is why it is still happening. If people don't open their mouths about the ills of society, regardless of the harsh critics and major denial of those who don't want to face the truth of it, then it will continue. I'll be damned if someone tries to "silence" me when I see a wrong in society being committed.

What grosses you out? The fact that some rape/abuse victims do not believe that vigilante justice is appropriate or understandable?

I never even commented on the justice system, I was commenting on the question that was asked in the original post - whether these guys should be charged, convicted and punished. And I answered yes and people who claim they shouldn't are just as sick, imo.

And just because someone's a "suspect" doesn't mean they DIDN'T do it. If the fam KNOW it's him, then it's all good. Beat the living shit out of his ass. Fuck him.

Yes, they should face charges for what they did.
I understand why they did what they did, but that doesn't make it ok.

Remember folks,

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"

... and yes, I think rapists, pedophiles and the like deserve way harder sentences than what they are usually given. It's a goddamn disgrace... disbelief
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
