Why do some people say that a child is 18 months and not A year and 1/2?

or 12 months when he/she is a year old.

Is it 2 years, when people start counting in actual years?

My boy is 3 months now. I think it's because of the major changes they go through from month to month. I take pictures every week and my wife and I went through them last night. You can really see the change with the little timeline album we put together.

It's not just the physical growth either, but at that age, the personallity starts to shape and it's usually messured by months.

Also, when we buy cloths for him, everything is in "4-6 months", "9-12" as well as the dipers.

I think it's stupid, because my son is in the 7-9 and sometimes 9-12 month products but he's only 3 months.

I know some people that go by weeks when reffering to their 1-2 year olds. Now that's just silly.

Unless your talking about your pregnantcy. There are milestone weeks with that one that are important that meassure the groth of the lungs, and other vital organs.

I have 3 kids and never used the "months" after they turned a year.

I hate that 18 month crap.

Call it what it is.
