Many things in history have been painted white. White has been chosen as the perfect color for things such as picket fences, flag poles, houses, cars and even huge airplanes and boats!

Without white, artists would not be able to produce the beautiful paintings that we so enjoy looking at in museums and such. Can you imagine Caravaggio without white??? How would he have been able to work from that wonderful black background without white to pull the detail?

Another wonderful white fact:

In televisions and computer monitors, mixing red, green and blue in equal intensity produces white.

WHITE and BLACK fact:

Using white and black together in print or art provides much-needed contrast and adds depth to your work.

I've just noticed something shocking... many roads are black but they have white lines on them in many places!!!

The yellow lines divide the lanes from on-coming traffic, while the white lines are there to protect and help guide you on your way.
