during surgery a few years back???


its come time now for the deposition, well, almost time its in a few weeks.

im starting to get nervous - but im not sure its gonna be necessary...


in a deposition, dont they just try to get you upset so they can find out how you are going to come off in court? i mean, obviously they ask questions about the case and have to find out your point of view but, arent they intentionally trying to upset you and make you trip up your side of the story in some way?

i think i am getting a bit nervous - and i am QUITE certain with the amount of money at stake they are going to be trying pretty damn hard!!!! i would take something for anxiety, but that might make me come off as drugged and unsure of myself, surely if i cant handle it and start to panic for whatever reason my lawyer will get me out or at least get me a break, right????

surely they cant say it was MY fault, i was asleep in surgery when my eye got injured!!!

The purposes of a deposition are:

1. To make sure there are no surprises from you when you testify at the trial; and
2. To see if they can catch you in inconsistencies when you do testify at trial.

Just relax, tell the truth, and you will be just fine.

Talk with your lawyer. Maybe answering some of your concerns will take away your nervousness.

Just tell the truth and remain calm when speaking. You are going to do ok I know it

i got the whole honesty thing, and thats cool... but like, the situation happened while i was sleeping during surgery and then when i woke up, i woke up to that. i have a hard time explaining the feeling in my eye when exposed to bright light or sunlight - thats the part that i am nervous about is how to find the right words to express myself.

also, my lawyer has told me to refrain from saying to much - just answer the questions. i will fight the whole way through not to do that im sure, i hate silence and i usually try to express myself fully and completely when speaking to someone. i will just constantly remind myself that we are not having a conversation, simply answering questions, no more, no less....


again, i will be glad when this is over!

court is when they try and mess you up, from what you said at the deposition. This is the easy part..
