I personally don't approve of the fact that she decided to have eight additional children when she could barely (if that) afford to raise the six children she already had prior to the octuplets. But who are we as a society to go bashing her in the first place? Would it have been different if she had won the lottery or had hooked up with a super rich baseball or basketball player to have these children and gotten tons of child support payments from said player? If instead of being a single mother of six who had these octuplets, what if she had been "happily" married to a Wall Street executive who was screwing other women behind her back and blowing their life savings while also making these bad real estate loans which caused the housing and banking crisis, and after the credit markets crashed he decided to jump from a 40 story window and kill himself? (Assuming that she got pregnant with the eight kids prior to the credit markets crashing.) Would she be looked at differently in the media? And what about these other couples who had six or seven kids at one time while also already having three or four children who currently have reality TV shows on TLC and Oxygen? What makes them different than this Natalie Suleman chick? And regardless of whether Natalie Suleman goes on welfare or does a porno to get a million dollars and health insurance for the kids, who's going to look after the children? They had no choice in this matter.

Before we just write her off as a dumbass, remember that there are a number of families of similar financial means living in the deep South or the Southwest who have the same number of kids and can barely clothe themselves, let alone their children, yet they end up raising not only well adjusted but successful children who all go on to college. Likewise, there are other families who start out financially well off and can easily afford to raise a large bundle of children, but a few years later they get laid off from their high paying jobs, and the family disintegrates into fighting, drug abuse,and general chaos. The truth is we don't know what will happen to Ms. Suleman or her children, but it still takes a village to raise them and make sure they become useful members of society.

I think we hate her b/c she PURPOSLY had 6 eggs implanted...knowing there was a chance that having that many babies would increase the risk of health problems. All but one were UNDER 3 lbs making the chance of having cerebral palsy go up to 50%..(I may be wrong on that percentage)
