Eddie Griffin has mentioned something about becoming close to Richard before he died, and getting a blessing to be connected with a movie version of his life story if it ever came to pass. I might have to go back and look at the stuff he did since his "Dysfunktional Family" stand-up, but I could see a glimmer of something in him that might be able to channel Richard. After Dreamgirls, I can picture Eddie being adept at capturing the drama in Richard's life (growing up in a whorehouse, the freebasing, etc.)...but I'm still skeptical if he coud channel Richard's stand-up persona. I don't know why, but something feels like a piece of the puzzle is missing for him to serve up all the outrageousness and make me believe that I'm watching Pryor onstage. Ed Griff did a showtime series called Pryor Convictions or something like that. I can't remember if it was before or after Richard passed?
