No, I haven't. Nor will I ever, in all likelihood - since I only know a couple of people here well enough to extend that sort of invitation. (They are welcome any time, of course.)

But if I did extend such an invitation, you may be sure I would at least tell my friends how to get to my home - and not just tell them to "look it up."

Both my youngest daughters play Competitive Soccer which means traveling to a different city every other Saturday and Sunday at least 8 months out of the year.

So one daughter may be in Vallejo on Saturday and Pleasant Hill on Sunday while the other is in Manteca on Saturday and Danville on Sunday.

OR the overnighters for tournaments in like Roseville, Los Angeles, Reno or Las Vegas.

So what rolleyes

We have been travelling for soccer like that for ohhh ummmm 35 yrs or so now

A lot of the facilities we are playing at are brand new and not on any tradition maps (like the brand new $10 million facility we played at last Sunday in Danville).

Plus there are times where games are moved at the last minute...no time to find the appropriate map to figure it out.

your cooking!!! woot! I would gladly look up directions to your place for that alone nod although I doubt i will get there by 8:30 lol

and I am one that prefers to look up directions myself. When others give me directions they tend to give them to me wrong, so I just tell them give me the address, I'll look it up myself nod

Phil!

I don't know what I would have done without the GPS you so kindly let me borrow when you so kindly let me stay at your place for nearly 10 days. I literally would've wound up in California without it.

Don't some people get current traffic conditions with their GPS's. I travel to work about an hour. (because of traffic) so yeah, sometimes GPS is necessary. It does more than just take you from A to B.

Ours get traffic updates and it updates the ETA with the traffic info taken into account. The new firmware update is going to put in estimated weather conditions too. I love this thing.

This thread reminds me of the FRIENDS episode when they're in London and Joey puts the map on the sidewalk and stands on it to see exactly where he is.....well I thought it was funny.

You know I got into an argument with a friend about my GPS.

He moved to a new apartment and he gave me horrible directions. Hop on 121 and take the _____ exit.
I was like....ok and then what?

So I asked him for the physical address so I could just put it into my system.
He was offended I wouldnt take his directions. rolleyes

I love my GPS,its helped me find new places, offered shortcuts and it lets me know what time I'll be there when I'm driving for long periods.
I dont use it all the time. Only when I'm going to unfamiliar places.

My GPS is probably my favorite gadget right now. I have horrible sense of direction and having it on my windshield is a hell of a lot better than printing off directions on Mapquest where I would have to keep looking down.
