Whitney. Love her or hate her?

Anyone catch Whitney last night on Prime Time with Diane Sawyer? She was very blunt, but I have to say I really don't blame her. It's her life, she's happy, leave her alone. And she looked absolutely gorgeous.

She made a lot of good points. She was so stressed out that she didn't eat for a week or two and it really showed. Some people eat when they are stressed, some people don't. She admitted to doing drugs, we all knew that anyway, but it's really none of our business. None of us are angels, we all fuck up. But because she's famous she gets the brunt of it and it's not fair. Let her live her life. Diane was really trying to get under her skin and Whitney let her have it. You go girl!

I didn't think she looked high. I thought she looked gorgeous. She just seemed a little pissed off that's all.

I don't like Whitney, she started that whole 'wobbly open mouth' thing that all the female 'soul' singers do now while holding a note.

Why do they do that? Aretha never did that! It looks stupid! hmm

my favorite quotes...

"Let's get one thing straight. Crack is very cheap... and I make waaay too much money to smoke crack."

"Show me the receipts."

and from Bobby who was sweatin a river...

"Me and drugs are not friends."

"It helps me... I'm bipolar."

"I don't smoke every day, just every other day."

"No one can outperform me"

So so so sad.

Those were some pretty good quotes!! My favorite is the crack comment!

But, I have to say, my brother was bipolar and when he smoked a joint it really did balance him out. So if Bobby really IS bipolar, I can understand why he smokes.

OK, if that's true isn't marijuana cheap too? I'm not really sure but I think it is cheap and does she smoke it or not?

In my opinion Whitney wasn't as truthful as she wanted us to believe and I felt that she was trying to dance around the questions. Just say it straight out what drugs you have done.

The press advertised the interview that no questions would be rejected. When Diane Sawyer asked certain questions Whitney did not want to answer them, her age, her dispute with Clive,etc...

So the press should not have advertised it the way they did.

My initial reaction was laughter and humor but after realizing that this is somebody's life (not to mention somebody's mom, daughter, friend, etc.) it was tragic. Whitney was a classic case of denial. Trying to do the tough thing meanwhile her leg was shaking and her fingers were tapping...body language says it all. I must admit, while not proud of it, that she said some funny things...the whole crack thing was ridiculous..."Crack is whack!" oh my...
not to mention how her entire demeanor changed when bobby sat in on the interview... cry

How many couples do you know who partied too hard for a little while, have strains in their relationship, etc?

Strip out the fact that she was/is a superstar, and you have a plain jane couple with the same problems as everyone else.

The whole intrigue of the interview pivoted on the fact that shes been elevated to a star, and stars are supposed to be flawless.

I did coke, smoked weed, had eating disorders, and a lousy BF. You dont see my ass getting interviewed by Diane Sawyer do you?

She talked very grand about overcoming her problems, but like someone else on this thread said, her body language said it all.

If theres any reason for me to be concerned its because I would miss her voice.
