Interpretation as human...yes. Different from natural.....well we can agree there. My dog WOULD not bark at a sink for water if he did not live in a human realm just as yours would not have a blanket. Some would say that is humans adapting their world for the animal, other would interpret the animal as adapting to the human realm. Personally i see animals adapting to human influence everywhere. From urban foxes living off trash to adaptions in genetic material because of our pollution. I think the question was a little more surface than all that though.....don't you? hug

Yes I do, which was why I answered as such. YOU started the whole in-depth thing! hah!
Now, let's get back to the shallow stuff, it IS Saturday night after all! woot!

Ok....i will give you that one wink hug

I can't think of anything 'human' that my pets do cause they're animals and display typical animal behaviour but my pomeranian and albino cat both understand when spoken to in english and my ethnic language. nod

I know. You can see who rules the house. I know it is a huge waste of water but he does not drink as much if I put the plug in and turn the tap off.
He likes it cold running out of the tap.

This morning I was sitting in my living room waiting for my husband to come home. I picked up my cell phone, called him, and all I said was 'Are you coming?" The dog was 2 rooms away eating in the kitchen. She comes running across the house and goes to the front window to look for him. He wasn't close to the house. She was eavesdropping on my private conversation.

She also is fantastic at hide and go seek with my kids.

giggle Aww, that is so cute.

The one thing that my cat Reebok does is when he's behind a closed door, he takes his paws and puts them on the doorknob and kind ot taps on it, as if he's trying to open it. He probably has seen me open a door a hundred times, but he has not figured out how to turn the knob with his paws to open it. giggle
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Thanks. Seriously some of our dogs have bad breath unfortunately, due to massive stomach issues. My rotty does, he's getting old...

My dog is just very sweet. I do not know if he acts like a human, but to me he can read our moods. He seems to care about us like we care about him.

Is like he can tell when we are sad or not feeling well. He then cuddles up against us to make us feel better.

mushy I had a cat once who could sense my moods. If I was angry, he knew to stay the heck away from me. lol If I was sad and/or crying, he would look up at me, as if to say, "What's wrong, mom?" I miss that cat. sad I have 3 cats now, but none of them can sense my moods the way the aforementioned cat could.

I just had our dog's teeth cleaned. He did not like it. I got him the dental vaccine, too. I also do not feed him any wet food anymore because he has the tendency to build plaque. I also try brushing his teeth about once or twice a week, but he does not like it! lol

Oh, I am sorry to hear about your kitty. Yes, I think this dog is special, but I do not know. He just seems to be very sensitive. We adopted him from a shelter (rescue group actually), so maybe this is why?

Thanks. It's been a couple of years now since he passed, so I've come to accept it. It could be that your dog is sensitive because he was in a shelter. nod I can imagine it would be hard for an animal to be dropped off/neglected by its owners. sad

Uzie has very little tartar (I think that's what it's called boxed ) buildup, but then I've always fed her rawhide bones that she chews on at her leisure, one smoked pig's ear a day and frozen (nowadays boiled instead) bones for her to chew on, I don't know what that part of a cow is called but it's the round bones that don't splinter. No wet food EVER... but the amount of tartar buildup is somewhat hereditary with animals just like with humans, and old pets... sigh
