Naw, she can't be overexposed or else you would've heard that she was. That's how Hollywood works. Ask Paulie Shore lol. In fact, people were asking "What happened to Angela Bassett?" for a while until she returned with "Mr. 3000". I'm tellin' you, she was never overexposed. And Union has a long way to go to reach Halle's status. Now HALLE might be nearing "overexposed" status.

Off with you!

All I ask is that comic book movies get the treatment appropriate to the storyline. i.e. don't make Batman silly, and don't make Spiderman a douchey emo.

Oh wait. neutral

Amen, man. I always chuckle when movie execs say they changed things/left things out because it wouldn't "translate well to the big screen". No shit, Sherlock - it's a frickin' COMIC BOOK. Hence, the "cool" leather outfits in X-Men, organic webshooters in Spider-Man and Halle Berry in Catwoman. There's also a trend where some of what's been changed in the flim, occurs in the comic book too. disbelief

I'm not totally opposed to changes IF they mesh well with the proper tone of the storyline. Yes, we all missed the classic X-suits, but how seriously do you think any audience could've taken a live action Wolverine in yellow spandex? Picture it and try not to laugh.

That whole Halle Berry mess was a travesty. disbelief

Ehhh...I see what you're saying...and part of me wants to agree, but I can't. I just can't (but I would really want to). If you're making a comic book movie, it should be faithful to the source material. Don't try to fit it in to the "real world" otherwise you'd get a movie like the Dark Knight. While I did like it (it surprised me, actually - I loathed Batman Begins), it demonstrated the differences between a "comic book" comic book movie and a "real life" comic book movie. Instead of the gothic Gotham City of Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns, we got....Chicago. Really?

I guess it's just me, but little things like that get under my skin. shrug

Oh, and (for me) not casting the aforementioned Angela Bassett as Storm. That would've kicked much ass.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

But if you look at the original source material for Batman -that is, the stuff that first came about in the 30's -Batman was clearly intended to be a very grim, gritty detective serial wherein the lead character just happens to dress up in a costume, and NOT a fantastic superhero comic at all. That's why neither Batman nor any of the early-appearing villains like The Joker have superpowers. Tim Burton's work is very stylish and beautiful visually, and I happen to love his two movies, but they're not what Batman is supposed to be. Nolan's "real world" approach is considerably closer to classic Batman. Gotham itself is allegedly supposed to have been a reference to real-world cities like Chicago and NY.
