Samuel L Jackson signs 9 picture deal with Marvel http://comicbookresources...e&id=20178
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that actor Samuel L. Jackson is to reprise his fan-favorite role of Nick Fury in as many as nine films for Marvel Studios, including “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America,” “The Avengers” and whatever sequels those films generate.
The news of this unprecedented deal comes just weeks after Jackson appeared to be unhappy with the status of negotiations with Marvel. Obviously, the conflict has been resolved. THR also indicated that a “S.H.I.E.L.D.” film with Jackson as the top-billed star is also in development.  "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world." |

As long as they stop fucking with my anime, I'm cool Its never ending. Vast majority of these modern comic book movies are one and the same. Even the "batman" movies, which are one of the few good franchises, are overhyped and taken way too seriously. At least those disaster flicks in the mid-90's came and went, now these comic book movies are tired aswell. Yet, they still seem popular? | |

Some of these comic books I've never heard of but Captain America, Thor, etc, I have.
But I'm not too big on the movies, although I did like the last few Spiderman series movies, and X-men. | |

"Judge Dredd" woulda been a good vehicle for Stallone, but even he admits the film was not what it should of been. Shame, as I admire parts of it. Who do you think should play him? It's been rumored that they want Ving Rhames in the movie I think he would have actually been good back in his Speed days when he was oh so fine but now he looks weird and swollen.

Many of them I find haven't really given them a fair chance. The genre's come a long way from the silliness of the 60's and 70's. Watchmen is an excellent example of the best the comic world has to offer. Pick up a copy of the graphic novel and see for yourself. I'm slightly afraid the movie's not going to to turn out all that well though. 
I agree with you though that Hollywood should give comic books a rest for a while. Personally, I think only the really big superhero names would pull in enough money to make it worthwhile anyway. They've got to the point where they're starting to dredge the bottom of the barrel and more obscure, less-general public friendly comics are getting the movie treatment when they probably shouldn't IMO.
