Only if you're into scat! We LOVE our Macs! Now, admittedly, I had a couple hard drive crashes and one shoddy motherboard each with two iBook G4s (c. 2004) we had. But the Apple Extended Warrantee covered all parts and labor 100% with each visit, and after the third major repair visits for both machines, Apple gave us entirely brand new computers (upgrades to newer, more expensive Intel MacBooks) -- with brand new warrantees -- at no cost whatsoever. Since I back up our files, as everyone should, we never lost anything. And we've had no issues with our current MacBooks at all so far. With the Apple Care Plan, we also could schedule routine software system "check ups" and cleanings. We haven't run into Malware problems with any Macs we've had (about nine now since 1996, roughly two or three at a time). And, as someone mentioned, the quality and breadth of the pre-bundled software is possibly worth the price of the machines alone. ...And, yeah, they do look slick to boot. The Macs have been worth every penny we've spent. [Edited 2/27/09 20:51pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

If you wanna make it like cars then Macs are like Caterham cars. Great little motors, quick and nimble but in the scheme of things won't win F1 and won't really challenge in the real world. Niche....at best

I came back into the office from lunch yesterday and found a Mac laptop on my desk. I asked one of the other ADs about it and he said it was the company's for me to use handed down from the design director that recently left.

Honestly, that company Mac laptop is wasted on me since I really have no use for it now that my job gave me an unused G4 a few months ago under the table (our IT guy did me a solid ) complete with tons of software that was never cleaned out. I'm passing the laptop onto the company photographer who asked about it and needs it a lot more than I do.

Apple event rumored for March 24 with iMacs, maybe more Apple is supposedly planning a special event for late March that will finally usher in some hardware updates for the iMac. The Mac mini and Mac Pro might even get some love, along with a "pleasant surprise" Apple's latest update to the iMac line may come on March 24. Two websites report that "sources" have leaked information about a late March special event that will usher in some long-awaited hardware updates to the iMac, and possibly even the Mac mini and the Mac Pro. The two sites in question are the World of Apple, which has been publishing a number of leaked Snow Leopard details as of late, and My Apple Guide. The former says the source merely speculated that updates to the Mac mini and Mac Pro may be included, while the latter writes, "Apple is said to be announcing a new Mac mini, iMacs with the new NVIDIA chipset, Mac Pros with Xeon processors along with a pleasant 'surprise'" Though neither of these sites exactly have a strong reputation for breaking this kind of news, exact dates coming from two sites makes us believe in it a little more than usual. Speaking as someone who has broken news about Apple events in the past, if sources are leaking exact dates, then it's extremely likely that Apple has already announced it to employees and has gotten the ball rolling in terms of event planning. On the other hand, we are quite a ways out from March 24; as always, things could change. A couple things we do know, however, are that the iMac supply is dwindling and that the Mac mini hasn't been updated since sometime in the Ice Age. Leaked photos and videos are keeping the fanboys entertained for a while, but how long will that last? Please Apple, end our suffering on March 24. a reasonable price? a netbook?
