I own both PCs and macs. I've liked some of my PCs, but I love my mac.
I always find the biggest criticisms of macs come from folks who don't
currently own a mac.

Or people that want to use them in a business environment and want apps to work without fannying around

I've supported your supposed business environments for software integrations and maintenance (180, 000 cliens). The apps don't just 'work' lol... like, ever.

God forbid a company wants to upgrade Java, Oracle, Informix, Nice, Attachmate or the like.
That argument is often levied by PC owners---and it's true, much more software for business is written for PCs in a corporate environment. Which is both tragic, and rather comedic considering the cost to maintain that software. Which of course is no real value to Zombiekitten.

Zombie, get a mac.

Or people who won't buy them anymore because of the problems they had with the ones they used to own.

If I went by that logic I'd never own another PC either.
The only reason I own a PC is because of Phil's afore mentioned business apps running on it.
Laboring on a Vista machine is depressing when you're used to OS-x

Bingo

Again, doesn't apply to Zombie.

And business software isn't written for Vista/xp cause they're necessarily 'good' operating systems. lol

The only mac I've ever owned the hard drive crashed twice. TWICE. The second time I didn't replace it (as it was almost the same cost as buying a whole new computer) and I've never gone back.

Pcs are prone to the same hardware issues--this is nothing unusual.
Plus you have to put up with a clumsy OS when you're on a PC.
Unless you're into geeking out on Lynix.

Perhaps, but I’ve not had those problems with a PC, I’ve only had them with the mac I had. And I find nothing “clumsy” about my OS for what I use my laptop for; everything works just fine. shrug
So the added expense for buying an apple (which is considerable) is absolutely not worth it. For me, anyway.

I just saw that Zombie said she can't afford a mac.

Scratch everything I wrote falloff

It's great you've never had problems with a PC--you're not the norm.
I got a virus after just 2 weeks of casual use with my last PC.
2 fucking weeks. I almost had to swipe the OS.
I know what PC owners always say to defend that, and I agree
to some extent. But that still doesn't change that PCs are just
a mess of trouble with little or no benefit to me.

They are aesthetically superior to PCs, yes.
But it's the OS that hooked me. After a couple of days of
fidgeting, I understand why folks love OS-x now.

But I'm not going to keep jacking this thread at this point.
Zombie isn't in the market for a mac.

What's funny is, the software that comes with a Mac is worth more that the computer itself. I don't understand the P.C. success. The illusion is being cheaper is just an illusion.

Damn. I have had my lap top for over two years now. Not a problem. Yes, my wonderfully great network manager rebuilt it a few weeks ago. Did not seem to make any difference.Just some old stuff needed to be cleared out of it.
His laptop is always locking up and shit, mine never does.
Works like a charm.

She's already a mac owner.
Unless I'm mistaken she also once posted that they[her family] would never use the PC they own to connect to the Internet. I could be wrong if it wasn't her that stated it.

Not at the time. With parts and labor I paid around $375 to replace it.

I love my HP laptop.

I've owned mine for about 2 years and don't need to rebuild anything.

On a mac, to remove 'old stuff' you just drag the components to the trash-bin.
No need to worry about antiquated system registry holding on to settings that could be disruptive.
It's the first time ever in my life of owning (mostly Microsoft pcs) that I've not had to rebuild a system after 6 to 8 months. Hell, I used to create ghost images, ad Zenwork install scripts for the scenerio knowing SOMETHING was going to crash or get fucked up.

Maybe what Zombie needs is a Pc with Linux on it. Suse is a great , corporate supported, version of Linux.
