Need a haircut. Looking for long layered styles - preferably pics of dark brunettes with thick wavy texture.

I like this:

But need more ideas!

I can't go that short - in fact I can't go short at all. I'm growing it reall, really long - but need it layered.

I think I paid $15 for 3 months at hairstyler.com. Just stick a pic in and put all kinds of hairstyles on your mug.

Damn it Erin! You need more hair help than anyone I know. lol

The thing is your hair is beautiful and it really doesn't need any "help" at all.

But I get that you wanna new style. Me too, but my hair sucks.

But I do need help.

Here's the problem. My hair is super thick and it seems that no matter where I go when I ask for layers they cut it the same way and my hair always turns out the same way - the wrong way. What happens is that it gets super thick where the bulk of the layers are and then the top and longest layer is too flat.

I think I need to find a stylist that cuts my hair dry so I can see how it's turning out as we go along.

I know what I want exists because I see pics of it.

And I want to bring the perfect pic and say, "Do it EXACTLY like this".

Maybe have your hair strategically thinned a bit to create lift where you want it? There are scissors that don't take off length just a bit of bulk to that it doesn't stick flat to your head.

Ya, I always ask for that. I think the key to getting what I want is finding the right stylist.

But I still want pics to bring in!

This is nice but I am thinking not enough layers - hair will be too heavy.

No, I don't ever straighten it but I will once in a while now because I did end up buying extensions!

Well I ask because if you get lots of layers on wavy hair it looks hot, on straight hair it can look too choppy. But you do have gorgeous hair so it might not make a difference. My hair is pin straight and very fine so everything shows. It sucks!

i know it's very different for a man's hair, but given that my hair is pretty thick, that was actually the only way for me to finally get it the way i wanted.

Yeah you can have it cut dry. If you find a good hair stylist they will work with you to get what you want. Just don't go to Mr. Snips!
