i only wear boots in the dead of winter. i have a hardcore pair of hiking boots i bought for my iceland trip a couple of years ago. they're not much to look at, but when the weather is snowy and icy i feel invincible when i go outside in them.

other than that, i prefer shoes i can kick on and off quickly. boots are so high maintenance to take on and off.
