She couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, IMO, but that woman is divine. oh c'moooon, Lamm....she can act a lil' bit...she's just stuck in the "I can only emote as a down&out, hysterical woman trapped in the bastion of societal misery" cycle...it's been a 15 year long cycle, but still

hes the male version of Susan Sarandon. He did deserve an Oscar several times before but not for Milk. One of his weaker movies. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

And a lot of awards went to wrong ppl.
Most atrocious mistakes: Best Supporting Actress Penny Cruz - ummm, what??? Anybody from Doubt should have won. Best Movie Slumdog was such a poor movie. Really. The Reader. Original Screenplay - Frozen River robbed. But it was worth for the acceptance speech. The only award that I really applauded was for a documentary feature (though presented by a complete duche). Man on Wire was the best movie I saw all year. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

The actor that people think is Shaft (Richard Roundtree) is actually Richard DoQui. He acted for over 30 years but the thing I most remember him for is the part of the sergeant in the RoboCop movies.

That's where I remember him from. The first time I remember seeing him was in Coffy with Pam Grier. "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

Can someone tell me why that "Man On Wire" dumbass had to run up there and do a coin trick and balance the Oscar on his face? He didn't even win the award.
Or is it just because he's an attention-whoring lunatic?

I didn't see the whole spectacle, but this was the first time I REALLY enjoyed watching it! I had a big smile on my face the entire time.
I loved the more intimate atmosphere, the artsy way how they presented the nominees and, of course, Hugh Jackman! A very successful change of an otherwise pretty stiff and dull show to see.

I was actually dreading watching the Oscars this year because I thought it would be so boring I would fall asleep but I was quite pleasantly surprised with Hugh Jackman. He gave some good energy, he kept the pace of the show up, and he didn't rely on corny canned material. Having said that, I think that the Oscars can only be improved so much because there are too many categories that drag down the show which the average viewer doesn't care about (best art direction, best sound editing, best documentary/short form, etc.). At least with the Grammys and the Tony Awards you can get a lot of potentially great performances out of it. I get the feeling that the TV critics will heap tons of praise on Hugh Jackman, yet this Oscar telecast will still be the lowest rated and least watched ever.
