AWA Legend Verne Gagne Linked To Nursing Home
Resident's Death By Daniel Pena Feb 20, 2009 - 1:07:08 AM Wrestling legend Verne Gagne is linked to the death of an elderly man he shared a room with at Friendship Village in Bloomington, Minnesota, an assisted living facility. On January 26th, Gagne reportedly threw a 97-year-old man down to the ground, causing permanent damage that ended his life twenty days later. The WWE Hall of Famer suffers from severe dementia and his family says he does not remember the incident with roommate Helmut R. Gutmann, which resulted in Gutmann breaking his hip. Police are investigating the death and trying to determine whether to recommend charges to the Hennepin County attorney’s office. Betty Gutmann, the wife of the roommate, was saddened by the events, but believes Gagne does not understand what happened. "You can't blame the person that did it," Gutmann said. "Gagne doesn't know what he's doing. I feel so sorry for his family, because they are faced with a terrible problem of what to do." The former wrestler reportedly had a history of violent outbursts at the assisted living facility as he'd put elderly patients in chokeholds. A third such incident led to Gagne's dismissal from the facility, but he was soon allowed to return "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Damn! I didn't know Verne was nuts like that? He's got the fucking attitude of a crazed lunatic that is still suffering from his World War II conflict/casualty trauma incidents of which he either partook in or witnessed! He seemed so reserved, cool, calm, and collective last time I had seen him in an interview.
I hope he gets better. Sucks holding that frame of mind, so many years after retiring when during your time of being indebted to and extremely active in your career (Especially the pinnacle of one's tenure), you're expected to be/feel physically, mentally, emotionally, and psychologically drained. He seemed so much more complacent, then. Ah, well. As for the Chyna/Joanie Laurer Sex Tape....WHY?! Has anyone seen Joanie, lately. Lord knows I sympathize with her dearly. Especially after all of the relationships she had and all the pain endured within them. This is obviously just a cry for help. I'd probably be strung out on drugs and lost in a whirlwind of confusion (That which probably induced me to embark on the commencement of acting out, erratically. Someone needs to help the poor girl out.). Sean Waltman wasn't as much of an ass to her as Trips was, in my opinion. I mean, granted,he put a lot of strain on her, especially when one considers that she had just come from the fallout with Paul Jean Levesque (Triple H/Hunter Hearst Helmsley) who TOTALLY disregarded her whereabouts and the well-being of Ms. Laurer for his own selfish pursuit of happiness. Boy, he's a conniving bastard! Anyway, she was mildly attractive around the year 2000 when she posed for Playboy. I'd actually say she was ineraDICKable (At least, that's what I'd arbitrarily purport.). I still miss Spanky McBarrelscrapin'! Where the hell is The Brian Kendrick! I know WWE aren't planning on pushing that behemoth lackey of his (Ezekiel), instead. I'm glad Shane Gregory Helms is back on WWE Television/The Friday Night Smackdown Roster. I miss Teddy Long as The General Manager. Vickie annoys (But, as her IWC fans would say, "That just means she's doing her job!" ). This sig is just a fig of your imago-neigh-shun

Debut Set For "WWE Superstars" Show, Three WWE Stars Up For Award By Daniel Pena Feb 22, 2009 - 2:51:31 PM -- The official website of WGN America is running a contest for a trip to two to WrestleMania XXV in Houston, Texas. The contest ends two weeks from new on March 8th with runner-ups receiving copies of WWE's Legends of WrestleMania video game. To enter the contest, click here. WGN America is also running ads on television for the contest, as well as the new "WWE Superstars" show. According to the ad, the show will debut on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. The ad says Superstars from RAW, SmackDown and ECW will be on the program. As reported earlier today, the WWE Draft scheduled for April 13th at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia will be a three-hour program. Due to the three-hour Draft, WWE probably won't be able to tape a slate of matches for the show's debut. If that's the case, the first "Superstars" taping will take place the very next week when Raw is at the London O2 Arena in the United Kingdom. The new "WWE Superstars" show is expected to be a "C-Show," so it will likely feature Superstars having trouble getting ring time on the televised Raw, SmackDown and ECW programs. On Friday, we did a report listing the WWE Superstars who have competed in two matches or less on television so far this year. To recap, here is a list of the Superstars and Divas you can probably expect to regularly see on the program: Superstars: Charlie Haas, Curt Hawkins, DJ Gabriel, Dolph Ziggler, Festus, Goldust, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Hurricane Helms, Jamie Noble, Jesse, Jimmy Wang Yang, Kizarny, Kung Fu Naki, Manu, Ricky Ortiz, Sim Snuka, and Zack Ryder. Divas: Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, Candice Michelle, Katie Lea Burchill, Maria, Mickie James, Natalya, and Nikki Bella. With the new "WWE Superstars" show taking place, it should also be taken into account that WWE will likely ease up on calling up developmental talent to the main roster (especially those on the bubble) because there should be less pressure to instantly succeed. WWE can tryout out new wrestlers and gimmicks before deciding whether to regularly feature them on the main shows or not. No word yet on who the commentators for the show will be. WWE has former Velocity announcer Josh Mathews calling matches in developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling, so if WWE has plans to use someone new, he looks to be the best bet. As far as the ring announcer is concerning, it will probably be Lilian Garcia as the show is being taped before Raw and she's already available in the building. Garcia handled the ring announcing duties for WWE Heat through the show's demise last May. -- This past Friday, E! aired the The Soup's 2009 Awards Show. A heavy-breathing, face-to-face backstage segment from a November episode of Raw with Randy Orton, Manu, and Cody Rhodes was featured as a nominee for the following category: "Best Display of Homoeroticism By A Guy Who Is Totally Not Gay... Seriously... Come On You Guys... I Mean It." The segment featured an intense staredown between Rhodes, Manu (breathing heavily), and Orton. Unfortunately, the segment didn't win. The winner was Chet from "The Real World" who denied being gay. He was shown wearing a pink pop-up collar that he made on a sewing machine, followed by a roommate singing, "I knew he was gay all along." "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Update on Gail Kim’s Return, a WWE Reality Show & Freddy Prinze
By Marc Middleton • Feb 18th, 2009 • Category: Wrestling News - The latest word on Gail Kim is that she is supposed to debut sometime after WrestleMania 25. - Freddy Prinze Jr. has been to very few WWE TV tapings over the past six weeks but he is still with the company. The feeling is that the novelty of being a wrestling writer has started to wear thing with him. WWE never brings up him being on the staff and his name is hardly mentioned within the company. - There is still a lot of talk going on in WWE about doing a reality show. The two ideas being talked about are bringing back Tough Enough or to do a celebrity-house deal like The Surreal Life featuring former Superstars of the past. The feeling is that Vince won’t approve of the latter because he doesn’t like the idea of guys from the past looking down-and-out now. However, they are talking strongly about bringing back something similar to the Tough Enough concept. The big question is that it would add more to the production crew that’s already stretched to the brim with WWE’s current schedule and with the upcoming Superstars show. A new project like this will also stretch the creative team "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
