Every time I go to a grocery store, the first department I go to is the Bakery Department. I love looking at all the goodies, even though 9 times out of 10 I'm able to escape without actually buying anything. If I didn't have to watch what I'm eating and watch my budget, I'm sure I'd be buying a whole lot of stuff from there. Bakery is definitely my weakness.

Do you have a favorite section of the grocery store where you like to shop, or that you always go to first when you walk into the store?

I don't have a favorite part of a store...but I love free standing bakeries. There is one back home in Nebraska that I LOVE going to. I can't find places like that around here, in good ole' Oklahoma.

And supermarkets have such an ABUNDANCE of BREADS,CAKES,PIES, COOKIES. Along with ENTERMANS and all the other Cookies and stuff, some have Dunkin Donuts inside. Where do all the Leftovers go? Well, I found out they go to the POOR/CHURCHES.. Doesn't it seem like such a WASTE?

I'm from continental europe, with a rich baking heritage (in my family especially) and when we arrived in this country 1978, all bread was square and white, there was no such thing as crusty rye sourdough etc my mum nearly went spare to realise there was no pumpernickel or knäckebröd here.
31 years later, you can get all those things here, but not in an ordinary Australian bakery.
