How Have You Changed Over The Last 10 years?

Not just looks wise, but Intellectually and Philosophically. Are you better off today?

Like hokie said, "more settled". Definitely happier.

More focused and determined.

Less caught up in drama. Just have no time for it.

I've accepted myself for who I am and how I am, with all my flaws.
I've grown more impatient and less giggly.
I trust less people.
I can count those I consider friends on one hand.
I don't care for random people's opinions of me anymore. The only people's opinions of me who matter (somewhat) now are my mom, my Creator, my bf & my closest friend.

I carry this phrase in my head at all times:
"Be Who You Are and Say What You Feel Because Those Who Mind Don't Matter and Those Who Matter Don't Mind."
I swear the words "HATER" is wayyy over-rated...smh

In some ways I’ve changed a LOT, in others, not at all.
I’m healthier, I think. I eat better, exercise more and I’m no longer a party girl.
I’m a little more open-minded than I used to be, though I never would have considered myself close-minded before. That took years of distance to see. lol

I'm braver, more outgoing (but still pretty shy), wiser, more open-minded, healthier, and more fit (but not at my goal yet)
If you will, so will I

I've had a lot more fun in my 30s than I ever did in my 20s. I feel a lot more like myself now than I did back then, if that makes any sense. I think in my 30s, I developed (or "grew into" might be a better way to say it) my inner and outer syle and became more comfortable all around.

I drive
I work in a field that I never expected to
I don't write songs and poems anymore, but have performed covers many times
I don't like superficial brats or care about being popular anymore
I no longer think I need to have a boyfriend to be deemed socially acceptable
I'm no longer afraid of my bi tendencies
I'm not into r&b/hip hop aka shit hop the way I was then
I no longer think clubbing is the only place to have fun
I'm more openminded than I used to be
My boob size is no longer a priority
I don't hang out with people who pretend to be ghetto when they really aren't
Prince's high voice no longer sounds gay to me

I think so and even in the past year I notice continuing growth as I feel we all learn everyday. I can say now I can totally accept me and love me for me. I'm really crazy now and I speak my mind. I used to be quite shy.

How weird... I was just thinking about this last night before I fell asleep eek ...not so much how I've changed over the past 10 years, but over the last 3 years. Of course, I've changed a lot in the last 10 years as 10 years ago I was just about to turn 14 lol. I've changed quite drastically in the last couple of years. Of course, some things never change, but my goals have changed, the way that I treat people has changed, I'm a much nicer person, I'm much more outgoing, I take more risks, I have much more confidence in myself, I don't put up with as much bullshit as I used to, I care less about pleasing others and do things that I feel are right for me, I'm much more independent... a lot is different. lol

Am I better off today? Hmm, I don't know, but I do know that overall, I'm a much happier person. nod

Well ten years ago, I was 13/14. Ahh 1999.

~I wrote macabre poems and got in trouble for writing how I felt.
~I was sure I was gonna be um....hmm...I really never thought that far.
~I was CRAZY about Prince to the point where I'd blast the Greatest Hits album beyond an appropriate level.
~I felt awkward all the time
~I um...ahem....discovered myself... lol
~Loved my Gameboy Color
~Sporty wear was all I wore

Span to today! 23/24

~Still writing.
~Very expressive
~Still awkward but for the most part very laid back.
~Very sure about what I want to do (be a writer) but still having issues with the "backup plan" just in case I don't make it
~Not all over the place with the hormonal sex stuff. XD I was so dirty minded back in the day...
~Big heart, level headed
~I can't get enough of head scarves and tie dye stuff
~Love my jogging pants but rock jeans and stuff sometimes
~Can't go a day without playing some kind of game

yeah, my history up to age 24 was square all the way baby

I had fun for a couple of years and then I had babies and promptly went back to squaredom mad

I'm more confident, I can even talk to people at the shops now
I'm probably a bit more relaxed even though I have WAY more responsibilities
I'm more immature now I think lurking
I'm happier with myself as a sexual being
I STILL love planes and robots lol

10 years? whoa, HUGE changes

My values have changed drastically.
I no longer have (as much) a tunnel vision about my career. I am more well-rounded and balanced as a person.
I have a new-found fondness for people and a loving open heart! biggrin
I am more practical, less idealistic, and have thus removed huge amounts of strain and friction from my life.

And finally, I feel more wise. I'm getting so old I feel I can see through people sometimes, see the shit they put on themselves. A lot of that old crap I have released.

wow! alot has changed in 10 years! 10 years ago i was living at home with my parents, i was 20 years old, and i didn't know what i was going to do with my life at all! i was searching and trying to find myself. 1999 was the first time i ever traveled to brazil, and that's when everything really changed for the better for me! a whole new world was opened up to me that i didn't realize was out there.

5 years ago i got married, 4 years ago i had my son, so alot has changed. i would say i'm much happier in life now than i ever have been before. wink
