I thought Drika was talking about the origins of 'ghetto' where the term was used to define a way of living life, as opposed to a noun (place where a person lives). I thought she was taking the "pop culture" definition of "ghetto" (adjective) and trying to go back to where it may have started. That's how I understood her.
