I have packaged a transaction that will benefit you and me as the branch manager of the International Commercial bank it is my duty to send a report to my head office in the capital city Accra at the end of each year business. On the course of the last two years 2007 business report, I discovered that my branch in which I am the manager made Twenty five million U.S Dollar ($25,000,000.00) which my head office are not aware of and will never be aware of it.I have deposited this funds on what we call fixed call account with no beneficiary. As the branch manager of this bank I can not be directly connected to this money, so my contacting you to this transaction is to assist me receive this funds in your bank account and get 30% of the total funds as your own share. If you agree to assist me, I will immediately program your full informations in the computer system here in my own branch as an account owner in International Commercial bank of Ghana. It will be a bank-to-bank transfer, and all I need from you is to stand and claim as the original depositor of these funds, who made the deposit with my branch so that my head office will immediately order the transfer to your designated bank account. If you accept to work with me I will appreciate it very much. My email address is jskwesi0@gmail.com e! mail me if you think we can work as a partner so that I will give you all the informations about this fund. Thank you in advance as you cooperate with me and God bless you. Sincerely, Joseph Akwesi.

oh my gosh, i'm sorry to say I know exactly who would fall for that shit if I was to forward it on....disbelief fucking email chains get on my fucking nerves. I still get the ones about the "petition" lists that will either help a little girl find a new leg for her stub, to help keep religious programming on television, to help rescue a lost little boy from kidnappers, or free lifetime meals from some awful fast food restaurant if you waste time forwarding the damn thing to 7 people. disbelief its sad how naive people can be.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

One of the ladies at my mom's job. It was a slightly different letter, but she brought it in to work and asked one of the people if they thought it was real. They checked it out a little and even called the number on the letter and told her they thought it was a scam. She was so desperate she did it anyway and her account was, of course, wiped the fuck out. Damn shame disbelief

Comptonia? What that be, some new kingdom or suh'in'? nana

To answer the question - if these are still being sent out, then that means people are still falling for it.

We get this stuff here even in New Zealand, one was from the Ivory Coast (As its Francophone, the English was worse than usual), saying my uncle Cecil McManus had died and left me 11 million or some shit. I explained to him
1. McManus is my stepfathers name he has adopted, my uncles names are all Maori and Scottish like Timoti, Dennis, Hugh, Louis and Hone, not fxxkin Cecil
2. Learn to speak English properly(I recommend the Berlitz tapes)
3. Don't try your African voodoo on me, as My Maori Makutu is 1000 times worse.

Never got a reply lol

A funny spin is on youtube a comedian called Gina Yashere (The clips called dodgy emails)

It goes along the lines of (In deep Nigerian accent)

"My name is Prince Obustopmatufengokianika (I forget the exact name it sounds like that). My fadda has died and left me 26 billyan dollars, however I can not reach the money, but if you give me your bank account details, your cash cards and their pin numbers.... I will put the 26 billyan dollars into your bank account and only take ten dollars for myself" ... If you believe that bullshit you deserve to lose every fucking penny"
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

They're getting trickier with their crap now, though.

The latest one I got was from someone posing as my adopted German sister, had her name and correct email address and everything. It said she was in Ghana and was sorry she had told me about her trip for a humanitarian "program" she was working on, was trapped there and needed me to wire her money to get nack to "home" (i.e. Germany).

...what they hadn't known is that I had just dropped her ass off at the airport to put her on a plane to Ireland that morning. She was smack dab in the middle of a job interview for some pop gig when I got that stupid mail. We were able to confirm to by text message she was indeed laughing it up and having pints and that her email was going to be fixed quick, fast, and in a hurry wave

What fuckers they are for wanting to take advantage of folks like this.

I've also heard in the last years there have been major problems with these scammers infiltrating the Western Union sytem worldwide. The culprits get Western Union jobs or open up the franchises, learn how to work the system and then rip their local customers off disbelief
