Cell phone policies irk me...

Question for people about cell phone plans. I have a plan that charges an overage charge if I go under 10 minutes of my total each month (if I talk for 141 out 150 minutes for example.) When I asked them why, they told me that it's because it's company policy.

I'm feeling like a stickler on this because I don't think I should get charged for something I didn't do - policy schmolicy. For me, it's a matter of principle.
I'm glad it got taken out of my phone account and not my bank account, but I wouldn't be a happy camper (although they credited my account for something I didn't do either, so with one hand they give and the other they take away, but I digress.)

Anyone had similar experiences with their cell phone? Or anyone know of any groups or collectives who are working to stop phone companies from doing this? (And if I get accused of being whiny, I'll fishslap you till you stink.)

It is dumb. It's like hidden ATM charges - why people think they have the right to charge for stuff people don't use is beyond me.
