question about DVR / Tivo

Since these are digital files, can hyou email these files or upload to a hosting site?

If it is the same as Sky+ here then no, the box decodes it as it replays it so the actual digital file is no use, that is how they get around you recording PPV or movies and bootlegging it.

Tivo has certain protections in place - you can transfer the files to your computer & burn them to dvd BUT you have to use a downloader from their site (free) & specific burning software (last time I checked, they were using Roxio I think, hopefully they've switched up by now). Dunno about the sharing aspect. Check their website, it's probably in the FAQ smile
