Then please explain how when I select that button that says to upload only selected files that I click that button and it starts trying to sync up to the files on the PC instead of allowing me to click the files I want? I'm not completely retarded and this thing has a mind of its own 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Oh - and it won't sync random files. It syncs to files that are in iTunes. Are the files in the external drive part of iTunes? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

OMG & OMG. I found out the first thing you're talking about because I had to select manually manage music because everytime I hooked the ipod up to another computer it tried grabbing stuff that wasn't mine. I converted all the files on the external so I think the answer is yes but I am not sure how to verify. I've never used Itunes for anything other than creating a playlist and slipping it on the ipod. I feel so old 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

You can't(musn't) have the songs in your computer AND your external
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You must have only ONE library
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
To know which is your library go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced
That should be your external drive in your case Oh,
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
If you have songs spread through different folders and drives, you can always consolidate your library
File > Library > Consolidate Library This will copy all of your music into the iTunes music folder. Make sure it's the folder you want. (see previous post)

If your iPod doesn't recognize your library now, then it's even dumber than you
