I'm So Scared And Have Been For A Long Time..Medical Problem...

I have Female Medical Problems and I've had this same problem for 10 years. I Cannot stop having my Period. No Matter what I do I am always having my Period unless I take a shot, then I get Cysts in my Breasts. When I go on the pill I get my period abnormally. The Dr wants to do a Biopsy and I'm too Scared. Then I am Anemic from Bleeding all the time. I don't want to make a big deal about it,but I'm really scared and I can't work cause of this Condition. Then she tells me about a D and C. I'm scared and I'm not doing it. So I am taking these pills and trying to stop it and I can't. I already have my period since January 11th. It's not Hemoreging, but it just won't go away. Has any woman ever had any problem like this? I am only 110 to begin with and this is making me sometimes feel like I can't stand-up. I am now taking IRON PILLS. I know this is Personal, but I have no one to talk to about this and my poor husband and I are Divorcing and he's sad for me. I Love him ,but things have Changed. I would be working Constantly if not for this terrible condition. I'm still young and this is one Hassle. I feel like I should have stock in Tampax.

You need to see a doctor. If a D&C will help, it may be what you need to do to stop the bleeding. It sounds like you're exploring all options, but you really just need to speak with your doctor and tell him/her your concerns.

Yes, you should go to the doctor, and explore the other options.
Also, have you thought of a naturalpath as another alternative (if medical doctors don't work)?

You should WITHOUT QUESTION see a doctor. And if you can't confide in your husband right now, might you have a close relative or girlfriend who might offer you support at this time? It sounds like you definitely need positive people in your life right now.

I have heard of this kind of thing with IUD's, more of spotting than bleeding, but for extended periods (no pun intended)

but what else can I say except don't avoid addressing this issue everywhere but here!

I'm going to go to another Gynocologist if the shot doesn't work. There is pain involved and I don't want any more pain and she wouldn't give me anything to knock me out. I'm not doing anything without some Anesthesia. I understand that she wants to make sure it's not something Serious, but I'm TERRIFied so I'm Not doing it. I just want this Period to go away. It's terrifying when you read about BIOPSIES. And I had a Breast Biopsy and that was so Painful and I was in Pain for weeks and I swear I nearly had a Heart attack Screaming. I can't deal with all this stuff. It's Painful and Scary. sad

D&C isn't that bad... I had one after childbirth with my daughter (3rd child). No biggie.

Please see a Dr. I myself was afraid of a lump I had that turned out to be a cyst (thank God!), I was terrified and I waited, will never do that again. The worry will make it worse and cause stress.

Stop procrastinating and take care of you!

You should not waste a day longer.

Nobody here will be able to diagnose or help you.

GO TO THE DR. SERIOUSLY.

It might be something that's perfectly treatable but seems worse because it's not being taken care of.

one of my best friends had this same condition she also had severe pain, she is currently at home after undergoing keyhole surgery last week! She had a prceedure called microwaving of the uterus (I know it sounds odd)

http://www.countrydoctor....native.htm

As many as 1 in 5 women are thought to suffer from heavy monthly bleeding(2), a debilitating and distressing condition known as menorrhagia. Until now, a common treatment option for many women has been hysterectomy involving removal of the womb, the risk of serious and even fatal complications and a recovery period of months. Half of the hysterectomies performed to treat heavy menstrual bleeding remove a healthy uterus.

The NICE guidance recommends that women with menorrhagia should be offered the option of endometrial ablation, a simple procedure that uses state-of-the-art heat technology to destroy the endometrium or lining of the womb.

MRGee,

Im sorry you are having this problem. sad

I endured a LOT of years with constant bleeding and increasingly worsening pain and longer and longer periods; no bcps or other medications (depo shot, etc) stopped the bleeding or helped regulate my cycle, in fact what happened in response to the meds I tried was that my bleeding got heavier. Like you, I wasn't able to work and I became essentially housebound. It was a nightmare.

Has any of your doctors suggested the idea of your possibly having endometriosis? That's what I had/have. It causes all the symptoms you describe, as well as ovarian cysts and other symptoms. Endometriosis can only be definitively diagnosed via surgery (laparoscopy or other) so you'd need to have that done to know for sure.

Please orgnote me if you'd like to discuss anything or you just want to vent about what you're going through. I TRULY understand how frustrating and frightening it is to live with this sort of medical issue, and how isolated it can make you feel since it's not like other medical problems which are more 'socially acceptable' to talk about.

One last thing - I had an endometrial biopsy done and while it wasn't painless, it went very very quickly (it was done in the dr's office under no anesthesia) and mostly it just felt like a quick pinch; I'd place the experience on the pain scale at at '3' at worst. I know it's easy for me to tell you not to be apprehensive about doing the biopsy, but please don't avoid a test that might finally help the doctors find a way to make you feel better and get your life back.

I hope you'll message me if you need somebody to talk to. And good luck and I hope things get better for you.

Sorry to read about your problem, but I have some info that may help U. From your listed symptoms, it sounds like U are suffering from Menometrorrhagia, which is excessive bleeding from your uterus during menstruation that also occurs during the times in which U normally would not have your menstrual periods. I have an older cousin who suffered from this a few years ago. sad

Here is a definition of menometrorrhagia from medicinenet.com:

"The bleeding from the uterus starts on schedule but is heavier than usual and may last longer than usual, and particularly between the expected menstrual periods. Menometrorrhagia may be a sign of an underlying disorder, such as hormone imbalance, endometriosis, uterine fibroids or, rarely, cancer of the uterus. Menometrorrhagia may cause significant anemia."

In my cousin's case, her cycle became heavy and continuous for months, and I think instead of visiting her doctor, she had to go to the ER because of extreme pain. After a pelvic ultrasound and biopsy of her endometrium, she was diagnosed with benign uterine fibroids, which were surgically removed. I remember the surgical procedure was called a myomectomy via operative hysteroscopy. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure of what she experienced during the surgery, or what her next steps were, but I think her cycle went back to normal soon afterward and the menstrual pain subsided.

I cannot be conclusive with your case, but U may be suffering from a similar problem. My advice is that U see your primary healthcare provider as soon as possible to get proper diagnosis and treatment, as this type of condition can advance to become quite serious.

You need to see a OB/GYN who will order an ultra-sound or a MIR to see if you have Fibroids. I had fibroids tumors: My monthly went from every 28 day and lasting ONLY 3 days to lasting for two weeks (heavy bleeding to the point of hemmorging) so I had about 10 days between my monthly. My anemia was so bad I took iron transfusion for a year. Because my blood count was so low I suffered from blood clots. I had too many to count in my legs and arms plus 3 pulmonary embolism. All because of some damn fibroids, I'm lucky to be here.

Myomectomy or Hysterectomy:

I had to have a hysterectomy because I had fibroids hanging in mid-air in my Uterus. If I hadn't had hanging fidroids, I would have chosen myomectomym recover time is maybe a couple of days. Hysterectomy it's about 4 to 6 weeks recovery. I understand your fear, for a while they thought maybe I had an Autoimmune diseases_ Lupus, that scared me silly. That was 5 years ago and I've made a full recovery. So, keep the faith. Please, get yourself to specialist so you/they can get to the bottom of this. Be Proactive. Keep the faith. If need someone to talk to PM me anytime for questions or support.

God Bless. pray
