doesn't that make you want to scream too though?! siblings being separated through no damn fault of their own?? i don't see cps stepping in... they don't have the balls to do it with anyone who's attained some celebrity. it's just so fucked up. and yes the doctor should have to put clothes on their back and food in their mouths. It's sad to separate them, but even sadder for them to be neglected. CPS will no doubt step in when it's TOO late and God-forbid one of them is injured or killed due to her neglect. Then everybody will be saying they shoulda took them earlier.

I think the state should intervene and put the kids up for adoption.
Kids have been taken away from their parents for much less. This woman does not have the means or mental capacity to take care of these kids. She and her invitro doc should be fined and made to pay for her bills. [Edited 2/12/09 13:55pm]

If they never really knew them or bonded with them, I don't see it as somehow impeding their lives. chances are, their lives are less than stable and ideal as it is. CPS social workers really do amazing things and never get any credit. they'll cut through whatever roadblocks the mother will try to set up and do what is best for the children and the mother. for all we know, the grandparents are dysfunctional, too, so getting CPS involved is probably the best thing that could have happened to the children.

StillGotIt said: LOS ANGELES (AFP) – The mother of octuplets born in California is staying at "an undisclosed location" after receiving a death threats, her spokesman confirmed on Thursday.
Nadya Suleman, whose decision to give birth to the octuplets after undergoing fertility treatment despite already having six children, was expected to return home later this week, Michael Furtney told AFP. Suleman has been staying at an undisclosed location -- reportedly a hotel -- after leaving hospital following advice from security advisors, Furtney said. "We agreed that while many of the threats were not serious, they were certainly serious enough that he suggested that we took the precaution of being in a place that was safe and secure," Furtney told AFP. "I believe now she?s getting ready to go home. I?m not 100 percent certain of the timing but it?s likely to be in the next day or two." Furtney said Suleman had received a "mix" of positive and negative messages following the octuplets' birth. "In the last day or so there has been I think an increase in the numbers of positive ones which is heartening," he said. Suleman has set up a website -- www.thenadyasulemanfamily.com -- where wellwishers can post messages or make a donation. "There have been many calls and offers," Furtney said. "One woman even offered to send breast milk. A farm family in the midwest offered to have Nadya and her children come live them. There's been an amazing variety." Suleman's case has triggered condemnation, with her mother criticizing her daughter's decision to have the children as "unconscionable" while fertility experts slammed the Beverly Hills clinic which carried out her treatment. The Medical Board of California is investigating the case. Under guidelines issued by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), a woman Suleman's age should have no more than two embryos implanted. Experts say multiple-birth babies are often born prematurely -- Suleman's octuplets were born nine-and-a-half weeks early -- which puts them at significantly greater risk of long-term health problems.
