I've only seen him in "running scared" (which is good enough fun) and "tap", which is a nice film. Cant see them making a film like "tap" anymore. They'd have to include some shitty commerical hip hop elements or something for a dance film these days. Both "white nights" and "tap" reach way beyond the simplistic dance movie title (particually "white nights" which does, to me, have a interesting plot). Whilst Iam not a huge fan of "tap", that and definately "white nights" stand up better then most dance films and do have some intelligence and heart.

That "cotton club" movie looks really good! Great cast aswell. I'll definately keep an eye out for it. Thanks!

I like Tap much more cuz I loved him dancing with Suzanne Douglass and of course Sammy Davis Jr. Not to mention the first time I saw Savion Glover. Although I'm a huge Baryshnikov fan, I liked him much better in the Turning Point with Shirley Maclaine and Anne Bancroft. Great look into the ballet world.

Never heard of those films you listed. All sound promising. I remember Baryshnikov in "sex and the city" LOL, but never knew he did other movies. Thanks for the heads up.

Typical playboy ho'with Prima Ballerina ho's in every area code, would fuck you and then leave in the middle of the night, and be at some ingenue trick's apartment afterwards. You know he sent one of his girlfriends sta-raight up crazy with all that rollin' stonin' . It was Gelsey Kirkland. She left New York City Ballet to join ABT for his ass, and by the time they were through romantically she was a coked out mess and addicted to plastic surgery so she could be his and Ballanchine's beauty ideal. I had the pleasure of seeing him(and Phyllis Hyman, RIP) in the Broadway musical "Sophisticated Ladies" in '81(such a great year). That MFer could do it all! (Judith Jamison was sick and couldn't perform the night I went).

About the concert....Anita Baker was supposed to open for Luther that night, but didn't because of "health reasons". I heard she was pissed off at Luther, and pulled a "diva" act. Sinbad opened the concert instead.
