has anyone ever tried to grow a plant from the fruit you just ate? any luck?

i had the cutest baby mandarins and i would love to see what they do! i also have a pomegranate and thought that might be interesting too. anyone tried growing the grape or apple seeds?

we did this with an avocado. Got a small tree that bore a handful of avocados each year! It was my mom though cuz I killed a plant that require watering once every three months

I'm sure it can be done, but someone said something about the reason you don't do this and that you only buy fruit & vegetable plants from the nursery is that they are certified "disease free."

What disease is in a seed that is not in the fruit I just ate, I don't know

No, not yet.
But I saved some seeds from a fruit (forgot what) that I was planning on growing.

awww that plant/tree is sweet.

I used to grown Pineapples. It was fun but the squirrels would usually steal the baby pineapples.
