Holiday shoppers: what's the most/least you've ever spent on a gift?

What was it, how much did it cost, and who was it for?

The most: $4,000 I sent a boyfriend and his friend on a three day weekend to Vegas. We broke up a few months later and remained friends for a while. I worked my ass off for that money too! evil

EDIT: Now that I think about it, it was only $2,000, because his friend ended up paying me back $2,000.

The least: $1.00 For the cost of wrapping paper to wrap up pictures, notes, drawings, etc. that I placed in a book... of family and friends throughout our lives, for my grandmother.

It would have to be $700 in total, when I bought Cakewalk Pro and a tiny Mixing board for my roommate. Back when I had some money. neutral

The least? I'm not sure of the amount. But whenever I make things, like pot-holders, pillows, and quilts. The time I spend on making them adds a lot to the cost. But in dollar value, it isn't very much.smile

me:

$800 on a designer handbag for my mom...

$9.99 on a record for my sister (back in the day when we used to buy each other vinyl as gifts.)

Now, my folks still get unlimited price range (esp. since they are co-signers on the credit card account evillol )

And the cheapest I'll do for purchased gifts is about $40 for friends... unless I make it myself (mix cds, framed photographs, etc.)

Yes, at the time I thought it was very stupid of me... after it was said and done. But, I don't have any regrets now... he had a rough life and I just wanted to help get him out to live a little, so I took out a loan and worked my ass off for two years to pay it back. That, and I thought I was "in love"... ahh...

Man, he cost me a lot of money! He wrecked two of my cars and never worked, but I worked to pay for the apartment and everything else... argh! Love is blind sometimes I guess...

The least? Whatever a card and stamp costs.
