A-Rod taking Steroids? What a loser, just like Bonds.

It's not just them, I'll bet 70% of the players were juicing during that era. But MLB and the fans looked the other way, because these cats were hitting home runs(Sosa & McGuire in '98), and the loot was rolling in.
Jose Canseco is a slimeball, but it turns out he was the only one telling the truth.

I think the revelation that Clay Aiken was gay surprised more people.

The least surprised should be MLB and the Baseball Writers Association and yet they still wanna try and cherry-pick HOF's from the steroid era like they don't know it was rampant. Either leave them all out or let them all in.

I said a long time ago that MLB sold its soul to the devil after the strike in '94...they willingly overlooked the use of performance enhancers and steroids because they needed to get butts in the seats...and now MLB is reaping its just rewards....
...BTW...Clay Aiken's gay?? He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

Rodriguez Admits To Using Steroids Feb 9, 2009 Link New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, talking to ESPN's Peter Gammons, admitted Monday that he used performance-enhancing drugs. Rodriguez says he used steroids between 2001 and 2003 only and has not used PEDs since he joined the Yankees. The use of performance-enhancing drugs would not be outlawed by baseball until 2004. Speaking at his home in Miami, Rodriguez said, "When I arrived at Texas in 2001 I felt an enormous amount of pressure to perform and perform at a high level every day. I was young. I was stupid. I was naive. And I wanted to prove to everyone that I was worth being one of the greatest players of all time. I did take a banned substance, and for that I am very sorry and deeply regretful. "Before that time, I never thought about substances. Since then I've proved to myself that I don't need any of that." Sports Illustrated reported on its website Saturday that Rodriguez was one of 104 players who tested positive for steroids in a 2003 survey test by MLB that was intended to remain anonymous and non-disciplinary. Rodriguez was with the Texas Rangers in 2003 and won his first MVP award that year. In a December 2007 interview with "60 minutes", Rodriguez denied ever using performance-enhancing drugs, saying he had never felt overmatched on the baseball field.

Exactly. Major League baseball, the baseball writers, and the fans need to stop with all of this sanctimonious BS about steroids and HGH, because they didn't even impose any anti-steroid policy in baseball until 2001, and they didn't really enforce it with any seriousness until 2005. Everybody looked the other way when the whole steroid era went into effect in the 1990's, because we just wanted to see all of those home runs being hit and those power pitchers with 98 mph fastballs striking out tons of batters with no regard to the fact that they would all need Tommy John surgery to repair their arms. The most disgusting display of sanctimoniousness came during 2005 when Congress felt the need to have nationally televised hearings about steroids in baseball when they should have been addressing the torture of prisoners going on in Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, the wiretapping of American citizens without going to FISA, or at least dealing with the regulations in the banking industry that eventually led to our current economic crisis. but NOOOOO!!! They had to save baseball "in order to protect the children."

But the test results haven't been publicized. The claim that A-Rod is on the steroid list is just from "anonymous sources" of a person who is coincidentally writing a book on A-Rod to be released later. There is no way to know if it's really true because anyone that can confirm it would be breaking the law by revealing info inside sealed documents. Just like men who stray, why confess to something that you know will just cause more problems? Some wives would rather not know.

Just like men who stray, why confess to something that you know will just cause more problems? Some wives would rather not know. True, true....you're preaching to the converted.... I can't believe he finally admitted it. I guess he had no choice. But what about the report that 103 baseball players also test positive. How many guys are in the entire leaue. Isn't that everybody?

No, there are over 700 players employed by the 30 MLB teams.

an entire generation of my most loved game will forever be plagued by the question, "did he use?", regardless of who you're discussing at the time. It's no big deal, really. You just have to accept the fact that 1988-2003 will forever be known as the "Steroid Era". Baseball has always gone through different eras, but it adapts, survives and goes on. Folks will still go to the ballpark. I've been listening to WFAN all day - most of the callers don't care. They're bored with it, and can't wait until pitchers and catchers. Winning solves everything.

Can anyone really blame these guys? C'mon, if you saw your peers taking short cuts to get ahead, and your employees's only reaction is to look the other way and rewared this behavior with multi-million dollar contracts, you would be tempted to do the same! I don't blame the players for giving in, it was MLB who caused this mess, and now they are trying to look down their noses on the steriod users.

Too many people have access to those documents, and I doubt they remain only in the court's custody. The government uncoded the coded list, so there is a known list of names and test results. I think A-Rod's confession makes it true now. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
