Oh, I remembered another one.
At work, when someone leaves you several messages/voice mails, desperate for someone to please call them back. And when you do, they're like, "Umm, can you hold on for a minute?" Or they say they're busy and want to call you back. If you are too busy to talk on the phone, then don't answer it!! Let it go to voice mail and call back when you have time.

I hate when people wait until the last minute to prepare to pay for their items at a store. They wait until every item has been scanned and bagged and then they slowly reach into their purse/wallet and ponder whether they will pay w/ cash, credit, debit, or check. That shit pisses me off!
WHAT? Did you think it would be free?!!

I hate it when a phone number has letters in it, and you have to stop to think which letter corresponds with which letter on your telephone. For instance, the girl who cuts my hair has the word HAIR as the last 4 digits of her phone number. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Another thing I hate (I've noticed this mostly in the younger kids). Hearing someone say, "SHUT UP!" instead of, "For real?" or, "You're kidding me!" Don't they realize how disrespectful they sound when they say it? If someone said that to me, I'd probably respond with, "No, YOU shut up!" Damn young-uns. [Edited 2/15/09 13:56pm] RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

then People who come up to your desk and stand there, waiting (and eavesdropping) or try to talk to you while you're on a business call. I find that very rude. People who stand in front of the bus or subway doors. Move out of the way so people can get on and off! Bad table manners (chewing with mouth open, talking with mouth full, scraping teeth on fork, etc.) Strangers trying to chat me up at work. When I'm waiting at the bus stop (or subway) and some one asks me if I've been waiting long. What difference does it make, the bus/train will come when it comes, regardless of how long I've been waiting. I also hate when they ask me if I know does such-and-such bus stop wherever? If I decide not to pretend that I'm deaf or don't speak English, I give them the evil eye and say, "Do I look like I work for the MTA?" Which leads to my last pet peeve: Lazy ass people who would rather ask you a question than read the sign in front of them with the answer. (e.g. where's the bathroom? what stop is this? does this bus go to the west side) Reading is fundamental! I think the last one is ridiculous to be annoyed over. If you don't know just tell them you don't know, If you do know and your withhelding information just because it annoys you thats so low. Some people don't have very good comprehension skills, or don't really understand how to use certain systems so even reading things doesnt help. I'm from a small town and if I went to a big city with a subway I know I'd be completely lost and have to ask directions and 'stupid' questions like that. And sometimes it's extremely hard to find a bathroom anywhere!

People wearing socks in sandals.
People complaining about not being hired because they don't speak a foreign language. Tabloids addicts. People calling during lunchtime, as if they had no idea of what time it is. Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity
