Strange true tales of Prince.orgers

One of mine:

Jan 12 2009.

I was wondering why one of my friends havent logged in to his myspace account since 7-30-2008. I had known this dude for about 2 years now and sometimes we would kick it at myhouse for a bit in the past but then his phone got turned off and he just stopped calling.

Needless to say a cab driver with the same last name as my friend called my roomate. Oddly I decided to put his name in a search on yahoo.com just to see if I could find him. Then I saw a post on the Minneapolis paper the Star Tribune.

20-year-old motorist dies in Brooklyn Park crash

I also found out his birthday was Jan. 11th. After the shock I told him i am glad he is in peace now I got cold chills immediatley and I knew that he was there.

No not at all hug. I found out in the last 1 1/2 years that some of my very best friends are people I have never met in my life nod. I know that some might think that's weird, but I don't care.

when i was 7, my family was driving back from St. Louis and we had to stop at my mom's cousin's winery cause i was extremely sick. when they got me out of the car my tounge was pitch black. needless to say we didn't stay long and headed back to Kansas City. we went to the ER, they saw us and said another boy had come through with the same thing and they didn't know what it was. they ran some tests, gave me some antibiotics and gaterade and sent me on my way. a couple days later it cleared up and we still don't know what it was.

Alcinas died? sad

I did not know her well but we had some very pleasant exchanges. She was one of those on NPGMC that I held in high regard along with esa, TLM, NYBuddah319 and Benni.

Warning...long story.

The story is about my eldest brother. When we were kids my mom relocated to Fla. and my brother was adamant about remaining in Pennsylvania with my grandmother so my mom agreed. He was what we now know as autistic but back in the day there was no such distinction so he was sent to a school with kids with varying degrees of retardation. Still, Pennsylvania was a much better choice for a special needs individual than backwards ass Florida so he remained there.

We stayed in touch and visited each other every summer. I remember the cruelty of some kids who would tease us relentlessly but I didn't care, he was my big bro and I was always proud of him no matter what. My fondest memory of him was when he would play his guitar...a love affair that began when he was only 8. He would get me and my middle brother together and we pretended we were the Beatles. Our stage was the bed in his room and we would jam until the bed broke and mom would yell at us. Of course, being the baby and the only girl, I would get the least of it. lol In his teens he discovered Jimi Hendrix and every single day he would go straight to his room to blast his Hendrix records and play guitar.

Long story short, we lost contact after my grandmother died in Philly and he had to move. I searched for him for the better part of 20 years until one day in 2006 his name came up on google search. The article was a newsletter posted by his employer so I called the place only to find out that he had died of a heart attack a month earlier...I missed finding my brother by one month...one f*ing month!

I contacted a friend of his who made the arrangements but he didn't give me much information and hasn't returned any of my subsequent phone calls. I only wanted to know what happened to his personal effects...his music, family photos, his guitar, the flag from our father's coffin and stuff like that, but I guess he thought I was after money or something.

After his death it occurred to me why I have such a special place in my heart for guitar players, especially Prince. My brother's guitar was even the same model.

Yes he knew. When I called the employer they gave him my phone number. He was the one who told me what happened. He offered his condolences but wouldn't return my calls after I first spoke with him.

When I received the death certificate, the same man was listed as the one making the arrangements so I called the funeral home and left more messages for him to no avail. No one else seems to know what was done with my brother's personal belongings, so it's a dead end. I can only guess that the guy thinks I'm after money or placing blame? I don't know.
