Amaxx

They're backburning 10 kays away from my house! The smoke & the smell is pretty bad! Then some f@ckin genius decides 2 set a treed section of parkland in Ivanhoe alight! It took the Fire Brigade 10 hours 2 get it under control! LOSER! mad

yea, frightening, im makin a list of things to take just in case and putting them in one place so i can put them in the car and go cause u never know!!!!!

i just went and got a few things from coles.

there was a lady from the fire service taking donations on the way in.

i only had 40cents cash but chucked that in.
she then said take a ticket, u could win a prize(i didnt want to but she said why not) i won a choccie woot! - im assuming coles are paying 4 those as well clapping


i felt bad coz all the things i purchased were on special, smaller profit margins. so i got some cash out with my purchases and put some more back in the firies hat. and refused a second ticket smile

My husband works for a council and he was saying that backburning isnt actually necessary most of the time...and to be honest over the years there seems to be alot of times when back burning has gotten out of control

i was wondering why no one was saying they could smell it! here when the forest fires are bad 8 hours to the north the smoke gets really bad down here.

Past 2 days the smoke has been quite strong in my area and covering the horizon. I'm avoiding the outdoors where I can the smell is putrid.

My sister left her house in Belgrave last night, she's not taking any chances. There were some fires nearby - she could see the smoke but no flames. The wind being as strong as it was, she grabbed the dog, cat and computer and they hightailed it to a friend's house at Hallam

Yeah! Another genius in action with the setting the fires up there! She did the right thing!
Speaking 2 my friend about it yesterday, He reckons words going round that nutters in the CFA are starting them! shrug
