That reminds me of a friend who went through knee surgery,
in the middle of surgery she woke up and asked the doctor what he leg was doing hanging vertically.
The doctor said, "I think you need more anesthesia.

Oh god. eek

I woke up during surgery once. Not cool.

OMFG!!!!! Waking up during surgery would totally freak me out! omfg
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Amaxx

I've made it absolutely clear that if I'm still of any use that I want to be stripped for spare parts & have whatever's left incinerated, then have my ashes spread at the Monza Grand Prix circuit!

I'm marked as a donor on my drivers license.

πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

I'm listed, and I'd donate a kidney or part of my liver to a friend as well. nod

I read an article about how recipients feel better if they receive from a stranger - it was something to do with them feeling obligated and tied to their donor and for some it turned into resentment after some time and many friendships ruined because of it sad
I know I would do it for any of my kids, or sister or husband, since we are already tied together with a strong bond.

I can understand that nod But, I'd rather have them alive and hate me than have them dead. biggrin

Or we could have a huge fight and renounce each other before they get the organ, that way we'd be strangers already! giggle

some of the people in the article became bitter enemies right before the surgery because of the donor chickening out at the last minute, can you imagine!!! disbelief things like this you don't promise without being 100% sincere - get someone's hopes up like that and then leave them back at square one sad

yes, people blurt out something in the emotion of the moment without actually considering the impact it will have on their own life.
