Job application ?

All of the on-line job sites i have gone to have the ? do u have an illness or disability.

Should i mention my rheumatoid arthritis - it is well managed as long as i am on my meds, or should i wait til (if) i get an interview.

They all have a little box that says all the info i have provided is true, and im too honest 4 my own good boxed

i would really love to hear employers on this, do u automatically dismiss these applications (even with equal opportunity)

headlp

thanks in advance.

ps- im out of posting range til next wednesday- but i can view

it's illegal for them to discriminate against you for it, but I wouldn't mention it until the interview either
If you will, so will I

Unless your job is likely to aggravate the condition I wouldn't mention it on the form OR in interview. If it does cause problems at a later date tell em it's newly diagnosed.

Get the job first. biggrin

i think it's not legal for a potential employer to ask about an applicant's medical history. hope you get the job!

i was reading, and now i don't remember where, that honesty can backfire on you..
leaving people(and potential employers)believing you are a chump... shrug
but i think i'll wait on disclosing mine,now..
after more than two years i've learned to ignore most of the pain it gives me..
it's the sudden 'i'm not gonna do that' that gets me.. giggle

eek I worked with Worker's Comp for several years and people do this pretty often. However, employers will go to great lengths to not pay and doctor's cannot lie about when conditions are diagnosed.

I would be careful with this. If you find a job that aggravates your condition, it may not look good for you neutral
