Minnesota - who lives in this state?

What city? This may have been done before, but it would be cool to see who does again.

Did you grow up here? If you moved, how long have you been here? Was Prince the icing on the cake, or the reason?

I live in MPLS. I moved here 10 years ago, and Prince was just the icing on the cake. I love Minneapolis, this place feels like home. If I ever move - it won't be because I got sick of it.

biggrin

You know I live here. smile

I live in Minneapolis. Lived here my whole life (except for one ill-advised move to Madison, WI, but I only stayed 3 months...) and I love it! I've traveled around and I may move at some point (I'd love to live in New Orleans, Florence or San Francisco for awhile), but I think I'll always come back.

Listen!! Does this count??

I now live in the UK, but previously before that I used 2 live near Minneapolis, for about a year, Well, Hudson, Wisconsin actually, but it might just as well have been Minneapolis St. Paul as it is literally on the MN/WI stateline!! But before that we used 2 live in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, then before that we lived in Marshall,MN for 3 years, then before that we lived in Moses Lake,WA, then before that we lived in Blue Earth,MN!!
Its really weird!! We have lived in all parts of the USA, but we have always returned back 2 Minnesota!! Maybe we will return back 2 the USA and live in Minnesota again!!!?? Maybe, Someone up there is telling us something?? That Minnesota is where we should b living and where we belong, physically, mentally, emotionally and Spiritually!!
Before we emigrated over 2 the USA in 1993, eye knew Prince lived in Minnesota, but it didnt really click with me untill someone told me, then all my homesickness for the UK suddenly went away!!
Even now, that we have returned back 2 the UK (for personal family-related reasons), my heart is still in MN, particularly the Twin Cities!! Eye log onto the Star Tribunes site and the Pioneer Press' site just 2 touch base with everything that is going on there and also other Minnesota/Twin Cities related sites, just 2 get a sense of connection!! Whenever eye see pics of the Twin Cities eye get all emotional and a lump comes 2 my throat and eye feel like getting on the next plane back there!!

Check out citypages.com. It's our weekly paper's website. Better writing, better stories, and more "local" stuff than the major papers.

I live in a St. Paul suburb (Let's just say REAL close to Dez's childhood house - 777-9311) and I have lived in Minnesota my entire life minus some time in Wisconsin for college.

I love Minnesota and will always live here; although I do love to travel there is no hiding that fact that Minnesota is where my heart is.

It's a grocery store for the love of God . I've never understood why all the Prince fams think it's so great. Yeah it has carpet and wide aisles, but you pay 50% more to shop on the carpet.

It gets annoying, driving in snow, and ice. Usually the road crew has the main roads clean before traffic starts to build.

But other than that? I actually love all the seasons, least of which is Summer. smile

I moved from Hawaii, and I think it's beautiful here.

Lovemachine- The prices are fantastic compared to the Bay Area! They sell things that Williams and Sonoma sells. Their bakery is the best bar none! They have cooking classes. They have tours and classes for children. Their selection of products is very good.

Please get off your fam trip.

Um, grocerys? confused
They have tours and classes for children.

...here we are in aisle 4, where you'll find Cap'n Crunch...and if you look to the right, you'll find our fine selection of Soy Milk! lol Tours.
Their selection of products is very good.

Compared to Cub or Rainbow, no. You must have it really bad.

Sorry Berry, it just sounds funny gushing over a grocery store.

Listen, there is absolutely nothing wrong with thinking that a store is very cool. I LOVE to shop.

Now, I do see all the humor in this. But if you lived here, all the stores are packed, a mess, and out of stuff.

Williams and Sonoma sell upper end cooking hardware and appliances. Very $$$, but nice stuff.

As for the tours, I meant they show the kids how the bakery works and how they make everything. Same for the deli and kitchen. Which I think is very cool.

I like your other grocery stores too, but Byerl'y has more of the stuff I am used to...so there smile

Don't let them give you crap, Berry! I have a love for certain gorcery stores too. I particularly like the Lunds Uptown, and Kowalski's in White Bear Lake. Produce selection is always sooo much better.

White Bear Lake...almost my hometown. How do you make it all the way out there to shop without a car?

My old roommate's Aunt lived on the lake. We used to house/animal sit all the time. They had a pool. It was fun!
