Move out of the US.

First thing I would do is quit my job. Then I would build a nice house for myself out in the country, give some of my money to my parents, and travel, travel, travel! Maybe even open up a shelter for unwanted/abandoned/stray animals.

Pay off my graduate school loans.

Set up trust funds for my niece & nephew so they will have money for college.

Give some to my parents.

Invest the rest; and travel and become a professional philanthropist off the interest/returns.

At least that's what I would do. A million dollars doesn't go as far these days, so I'd need at least $10 million to be truly wealthy.

Pay off all bills. Take a trip around the world. Give some to charity. Save the rest
