First thing I would do is quit my job. Then I would build a nice house for myself out in the country, give some of my money to my parents, and travel, travel, travel! Maybe even open up a shelter for unwanted/abandoned/stray animals.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'd probably not set up shop in any one place but I'd spend a ton of time in europe.

pay off bills, by a reasonable priced car, and go back to school.

Pay off my graduate school loans.

Set up trust funds for my niece & nephew so they will have money for college.

Give some to my parents.

Invest the rest; and travel and become a professional philanthropist off the interest/returns. smile
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I wish I was being sarcastic.

exactly, for that reason, I wouldn't even move house, I'd probably just extend upwards on this place, and landscape the garden a bit, put in plants that don't need any water.
if there's any money left over I'd blow it all on airfares woot!

If you'd just buy your kids some Christmas presents, they wouldn't be after you. shrug

Pay off the small amount I owe. Buy a house, new car, go to school and bank the rest for my son - not that much would be left.

Where have you been? I haven't seen you here on the Org much lately. sad I hope it's not because your neighbors are pounding on your ceiling for typing too loud. Maybe you can take that million dollars and buy yourself an apartment complex that will guarantee you some income from now on. Rent the place out, clean it up a bit, get some big time equity on it, refinance it to get some more cash, and use that to buy another apartment complex, repeat, and before long you'll be a real estate tycoon like Donald Trump. king

At least that's what I would do. A million dollars doesn't go as far these days, so I'd need at least $10 million to be truly wealthy. biggrin

Pay off all bills. Take a trip around the world. Give some to charity. Save the rest

I've been here just not so much the last couple of days. My son has been quite sick these last few weeks and I had to take him back to the children's hospital here.

The neighbours haven't banged lately but they can still eat a dick.
