It depends on how much sick shit they do while on drugs.

Well, O.K. Phelps is now being Chastized for smoking Pot with a Bong. Has this changed your way of thinking about him?

people smoke pot, so what. i don't, but if it didn't noid me out i probably would. phelps is rich, so his bong was probably full of certified organic vegan weed or some shit, it was probably full of antioxidants and really good for him. shrug

Not at all. Actually I don´t really understand all the hoopla about athletes smoking pot. I mean, come on, pot doesn´t improve your athletic performance, it´s not like he´s using roids so what´s the fuss about smoking weed ?
If anything, people should be surprised that he was successful despite smoking pot. It´s not really an energy booster you know.

hmmm In some cases, yes. Like if the drug use starts to hinder what it was I started idolizing them for. For example, I used to be a huge Marilyn Manson fan but started to feel like he was beating this "I like cocaine" thing to death and had to stop listening. I'm sure the whole drug thing was to shock people at first but by the time "Mechanical Animals" came out it was pretty clear that drugs were taking over his life.

And the quality of Marilyn Manson's tours have suffered also. Lack of Energy.

depends what I idolise them for, like if I admired them for a no-drugs stance (like FZ, though he refused to see cigarettes as a drug tobacco is a vegetable lol ) if they then turned around and went on a drug bender, I'd be disappointed, but I think.
If it was a real life idol, like my mum, I'd be devastated! I wouldn't stop loving her though.

i love those "selective" non-drug users. no, really, i do. they help me justify my own standards. like FZ and his ciggies, and also henry rollins - he's so adamantly anti-drug/anti-alcohol, yet he brags about how much coffee he drinks. you know, there has to be some substantial hypocrisy to that, but i say god bless him. nod

only if they refuse to seek help if they are surrounded by those who care about them and are trying to help them best they can. nobody's perfect, but people should learn from their mistakes as well. some people may fall into a dark place, but it isn't written anywhere that you should stay there.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Not at all.

It's no secret the greatest music in the world was produced whilst the artists were high as fuck!

Major kudos to them.

Yes. I use to be a huge fan of George Michael. His songs were wonderful, and he always seemed to be a classy, good looking guy. I had heard that he had dabbled in drugs throughout his career, but it seems like once he came out, him, and his career went to hell. The music isn't what it use to be. It really is a shame to see talent like that go in the crapper. neutral
