Even on student films with no budget, I've seen the nicest people erupt into screaming rants... it always happens on movie sets... working on a movie is like waiting in line at the post office for 12 HOURS. You can go crazy.

You'd have to be on a film set, cheap or big budget, and see for yourself how crazy people can temporarily get...

I've heard of similar horrible screaming stories from people who have been on the sets of Tarantino, Rodriguez, Sommers, Gilliam, James Cann, David Duchovany... etc. Tarantino seems like the scariest.

I've heard that one director got so crazy mad on his set, he walked out and shat on the ground outside the studio door...

It just so happens that Bale hit such a peak right now (backlash fast-flood is inevitable) that this recording is gonna set off a major reaction by the public who doesn't understand that Bale may have been cool with the DP later on (after he got out of the crazy mental state actors get into to act well). Of course maybe he still hates the guy... although he did call him "nice guy".

The DP on TERMINATOR SALVATION, Shane Hurlbut, is a apparently a light tweaker. He's a fairly young DP and likes to fiddle with his lights on set during action, which is a big "NO NO" on most productions unless worked out in advance with performers. But apparently Shane was a pretty unrepentant light tweaker.

The scene in question, was a very emotional and tough scene between Christian Bale and Bryce Howard. A scene that required soul bearing and a deep level of immersive concentration. The sort of scene where everyone on set knows not to get in anyone's eye lines, and definitely not to move lights around while FILMING. You lock that shit down before the scene starts.

Bale had indeed warned the DP on multiple occasions about messing with lights while the cameras were rolling, and Bale was in the midst of a painful scene with Bryce, what was described to me as being the emotional center of the film and his character for the film.

Now, the reason I know all of this is because the person that was there, felt that it should be made perfectly clear that Christian Bale was the utmost gentleman and cool guy on set. And the DP really was doing something that professional DPs with experience just don't do. Not during a performance. "

Folks - think about this. Think about Bale as one of us. Do you have a family member that's a fucking embarrassment? Have you ever screamed at a parent, a friend, someone you know who is being fucking obnoxious? That's what happened between Bale and his Mother/Sister. And in this situation, I personally hold McG responsible for not having his crew locked down during a very emotionally tough scene, where a very serious actor was doing very serious work."

Film star Christian Bale has called a US radio station to apologise for a tirade which was leaked onto the internet, calling it "inexcusable".

The actor spoke to Los Angeles-based station KROQ, and admitted that "I acted like a punk".

He added: "I was out of order beyond belief. I make no excuses for it."

Bale, 35, launched into his three-minute rant on the set of his new film Terminator Salvation when a crew member walked into his eye-line during a take.

He was heard screaming threats and swearing at Shane Hurlbut, who was in charge of the film's photography.

'Resolved completely'

Speaking to presenters Kevin Ryder and Gene "Bean" Baxter, an embarrassed Bale admitted he had taken things too far.

He said: "The thing that disturbs me so much is that I've heard a lot of people saying that I seem to think that I'm better than anybody else.

"Nothing could be further from the truth. I am a very lucky and that is why I put so much into what I do, and why I care so much about it and why sometimes my enthusiasm just goes awry."

In the new movie, Bale plays the main character John Connor who is battling to save humans in the future being wiped out by robots.

Bale insisted the scene that was interrupted was key to the story and he was "trying to convey" the madness his character had inherited from his mother, Sarah Connor, from 1991's hit movie Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

He said: "I completely mixed up fact and fiction, I'm half John Connor, I'm half Christian there."

Bale dismissed his threats of getting Hurlbut fired as "hot air" and told the station that they had reconciled since the showdown.

He said: "I've not only talked with him, we have resolved this completely.

"That very day we kept working for a number of hours. And we worked together for at least a month after that. There is no problem whatsoever.

"I've seen a rough cut of the movie and he has done a wonderful job. It looks fantastic," added the star.

I can understand the frustration if someone kept walking onto a set and distrupting the scene numerous times. Also if it was the end of a long day of filming.

But to go on and on and on and on like that, well, he's also making it all take longer by carrying on for so damn long!
