Jughead in Lost

Just watched the latest episode of Lost (in the uk, sky 1) and there was a bomb hanging with the name Jughead on it. Made me think of the song.

LOST is starting to feel really tired to me. I do like how they're doing flash forward and flashbacks as real events now as apposed to just your standard memory sequence.
But they show is getting more and more methodical. I wish Ben would die. I hate him. But I guess he adds tension to the show.
Are they ever going to explain the polar bears? shit!

confused What more do you want them to explain about the polar bears? They were held in cages at the Hydra station. Apparently, they were used to move the frozen wheel in the Orchid station, which is why Charlotte found the polar bear remains in Tunisia.

"Jughead" always makes me think of Archie. Anyway, Daniel told Ellie to bury the bomb before they flashed away. Perhaps that explains all of the concrete under the Swan station that Sayid commented on in season 2.

Which would be the stupidest explanation ever. Polar bears to move that wheel? WTF? lol

I think it was very interesting to see young Charles Widmore on the island. Still trying to understand what it really means. Obviously, he used to be one of the Others? But what happened between him and Ben?

Wow, Alex, you really seem to be into this.I´m getting more and more lost in LOST, lost and confused but still, I love the series more and more the more I watch it but all those time jumps are getting a bit confusing. But I´ve always found them confusing when you really think about it, even in other films and series.
I really love this series and can only hope that they don´t ever ruin this gem of TV entertainment like some teams did in the past with other series that started out strong and then kind of became weak, contradictive and confusing but, up to now, LOST is perfect as it is.

IIRC, Charlotte found the polar bear remains in the second episode of season 4 ("Confirmed Dead"). It had a Dharma Hydra collar.

LOL @ this show. The writers have clearly lost the ball and have no idea what the fuck they're even writing anymore. The audience thinks it's all going to lead to some intensely profound conclusion.

It makes complete sense. The wheel had holes or something that would allow an animal to be hooked up to it. Using a polar bear, they could move the island when necessary without having to exile anyone like what happened to Ben.

I think it was very interesting to see young Charles Widmore on the island. Still trying to understand what it really means. Obviously, he used to be one of the Others? But what happened between him and Ben?

It explains a lot. Widmore told Ben that the island was his and that Ben took it from him like everything else. Now it makes sense that Widmore's men on the freighter knew everything about the island (where Ben would go, the location of the Tempest and Orchid stations, etc.). It also explains why he was bidding on the diary from the Black Rock if he knew that the ship is on the island.

It's obvious that Ellie is Ms. Hawking and Faraday's mother, but now I'm wondering if Widmore is his father. If we accept that Miles was the baby we saw Dr. Chang feed in the season's opening scene, then he, Faraday, and Charlotte all have personal connections to the island. That would explain why Abbadon told Naomi that they were all picked for specific reasons. It's certainly interesting.

I think they've set everything up perfectly. They've already laid the foundation to answer almost all of our questions. The island moving through space explains the presence of Yemi's plane from Africa and the land-locked Black Rock. The Losties moving through time looks like it's going to explain the whispers and the skeletons of Adam and Eve in the caves (among other things). Specifically, we now know exactly why Richard Alpert was present at John Locke's birth (because John told him to go) and why he asked young John later to pick which item already belonged to him (because time-lost Locke had given the compass to Richard earlier). They've given us so many answers already that it's easy to believe the rest are forthcoming.

Really? There was an Other named Amelia, but I don't think she's one of the skeletons. I think it's telling that Jack took the black and white rocks found on one of the skeletons. I have a feeling two of our characters are going to meet their end on the island while in the past and in possession of those two rocks, completing the circle (so to speak). Jack and Kate? Desmond and Penny? Daniel and Charlotte?

I think it was Amelia Earhart the famous American female pilot "lost" in the 1930's. But hey you could be right as well.

lol I knew who Ameria Earhart is! lol I was just saying that (somehow) the Other Amelia could actually be Earhart (although I doubt it).

That's a shit show, too.

This show started off well, but now I think they're just convoluting the convolutions for the sake of it. Enough mumbo jumbo - get back to reality, please. I laugh every time they trot out "The Island needs it/you/(insert action here)" as an explanation.

Of course it's an opinion (and a valid one at that)! But you're the one who said that the writers "clearly lost the ball." Clearly, that's just your opinion; the evidence we've seen so far says otherwise.

I love the way they're going, too. But I'm suspicious of time travel stories, they rarely make sense. And I don't really know about this Jack, Kate, whoever have to go to the island because it's their fate and it can only be saved with them. Other than that, it's an amazing show, IMO.
