New York Right, I've booked up to go to NY between 12-16 November dis year
I'm looking for recommendations on places to eat, drink and things to do I know I can google, but some folk on here might be natives and know some wee hidden gems for me to go to So far I only know I'm definitely going on the Sopranos Tour and I'm sure my wife to be will make me go on the Sex and the City tour (4 venomous fucking hags spending lots of money, can't wait) I like boxing, so anything related to that would be good and the godfather and i'm a bit of a fat bastard so definitely restaurants Thank you to the org in advance “If I can shoot rabbits/then I can shoot fascists”

If you're half-Italian and like to eat then visiting restaurants downtown in Little Italy is a no-brainer.

yep, sure is what's the best one to go to? That I couldn't tell you. I've been to a few that were good, but honestly don't remember their names. I say just walk down Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome and whichever ones have the most people in it and the best Zagat reviews in the window would be ones to try.

I always recommend visiting museums: The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met), and The Guggenheim are all great choices. A walk around the reservoir in Central Park is nice.
Take the Staten Island Ferry from South Ferry to get a nice and FREE ride past the Statue of Liberty. I don't know about Little Italy, but Carmine's is a great Italian restaurant in the Theater district. They serve family style, though, which means the portions are huge and meant to be shared. I also like Cascina Ristorante in Hell's Kitchen/Theater District. Oh, and I forgot Pomodoro's on the Upper West Side (Columbus Avenue and West 71st?). Evidently it was in a Seinfeld episode (the break up episode?). [Edited 1/31/09 21:32pm] The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
