No, but I do have a tape player set up in my car. The worst thing is is that I have had a cd player in the trunk for years, but I have never had the ambition to set it up. I now have a device that allows me to play my ipod in the tape deck, so I doubt that I take out the tape player as long as I own the car. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...

I met a girl the other night in class that still has dial-up. The best part?
The class is for IT, specifically Cisco Networking. I was like, what the fuck are you doing here? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Sadly, I am. I live in a very rural part of Michigan along the Lake Huron shore with Canada directly across. Dialup is all that is available here. As soon as anyone puts in high speed I'll be the first to sign up! My friend who lives about 1/3 mile from me just lost the sale of her home because the potential buyer needed cable internet for his work. Music is the language of the spirit. Um, no, I don't think so.
But I was about a year ago.

I knew a guy last year who was on it, and it was the really shitty snail slow type dial up.
He'd open the homepage (google or whatever) and just that page would take about 5 minutes to load. He's a huuuuge MJ fan and to look at his videos on youtube was a big ordeal. I just think, why? Why would you keep dial up when you have so many better options now? It's really not that hard to switch over and you get your phone line back too!

There is no cable where my mom lives, so she is still on dial-up and I use it when I'm at her house.
It is brutal. Big time waster.

I still have dial-up at home. Which is why I'm hardly ever online at nights or on weekends. Plus my home computer was old and crappy so I didn't see the point in converting when I could just do everything online from work anyway. But a few months ago I got a newer computer and operating system at home so there's nothing stopping me from getting a high speed connection now.

Reply to 'Is anyone still on dial-up?'
Yes, how else would I get online. You've got to call the internet. "You've got mail" Oh, I've got mail.
