You need an electric blanket, it shouldn't blow any fuses like the space heater. You can also continuously boil big pots of water in your kitchen. I have a very small apartment so I had my oven on for a little while and left the door open...I do not suggest this because it's dangerous but if it's just for a little while it shouldn't hurt. I feel for you, I really do! I hope it doesn't last too much longer. I remember going to bed with 4 layers on, 5 blankets and I could still feel the cold seeping in. I woke up and my room was 36 degrees...I could see my breath! 
Oh dogs will keep you warm too! If you have pets...cuddle! Thanks Carrie! I've decided that when I return that heater today, I'm gonna exchange it an electric blanket 
It'll be nice to have since I get cold easily anyway and I don't have any thing living to cuddle with, so the blanket should make a nice substitution for a dog or human  If you will, so will I | |

My apartment is always cold because I have no control over the heat and my ceilings are 14 feet high. I usually put on my space heater for an hour before I go to bed then turn it off...but when the furnace broke everyone in my building were using the heaters so naturally it kept blowing fuses. It was awful..so awful!! Hopefully everything will be fixed soon! Good luck! | |

ok...one year my heat broke, and it happened to be a winter that saw alot of high 20s low 30s lows at night(i'm in florida)but it was still cold and this was for weeks..i had one blanket that i put on the bed on the sheet and under of course the flat sheet...that cut down on th cold air getting me from under the bed..and every blanket i owned on the bed..i slept in sweatpants,an undershiet,a t-shirt,a pullover fleece top and i had slipper socks on my feet..
one other thing i had was a heating pad,set on low..i didn't sleep on top of it it was under the blankets with me..do not sleep on it..i ended up getting that because there was not an electric blanket to be found,as well as no space heaters(new ones will smell funny) and while i was in bed i was warm...but if you have to go at night brrr!! also you were definately up in the morning once you moved out of the cocoon..
i actually did this two years in winter.. there was something wrong with the heat part of central heat & air. the 2nd year it broke for good,i couldn't even get the usual hour of heat out of it... 
umm..it might not be the space heater it might be your fuse/breaker they wear out,and it might need to be replaced...   'why y'all trying to say goodbye? I didn't go anywhere, I'm right here, im all around you,always..'

it can be..  those days i mentioned??i got up for work and could see my breath!!
but that little heating pad was precious! the cold had sent people buying..it was a year that stores could not keep space heaters and electric blankets in stock..then i walked by an endcap that had heating pads on it... i slept with it under the blankets so there was a little heat source.. on low...i still got cold when i moved or turned over,but if you get enough blankets on,it gets harder to move.. 
today it's rainy...and 68 degrees...  'why y'all trying to say goodbye? I didn't go anywhere, I'm right here, im all around you,always..'
